My OB said baby is breech at the moment - should I be worried yet? Some things I've read say there is plenty of time, which I agree with, but I also know the longer it stays breech the harder it is for it to turn. Thoughts/past experiences?
My doctor guessed mine is breech and ordered an ultrasound in two weeks to see. I am not worried quite yet because he said most babies flip still. But if baby is still breech by the ultrasound I'll be upset.
I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and had an ultrasound yesterday to check growth. My little one is breech but I'm not worried yet. I know she can still turn based on where I can feel movement.
FTM so this may be a dumb question, but how did he know baby was breach? AS was the last ultrasound for me, and according to my OB I don't get another one unless something is wrong. I've been wondering if baby is breach, how would I know, and what can I do about it?
The reliable way is u/s.
As baby gets bigger it is sometimes possible to tell by finding a head/butt or by noting where you feel movement and hiccups.

Im a FTM too but my doctor tried to feel for the head at my last appointment. So I'm assuming that's how they know if you aren't scheduled for an ultrasound?
This is me too, as it was last time. My midwives are not concerned yet but I've still been doing everything I can to turn him/her. Try spinningbabies.com (a popular one) or the one I actually like better, mybreechbaby.org. As far as telling what's up or down, when you are laying flat on your back and can feel a big round part under your ribcage, that's usually either butt or head. Think of the way your head can nod front to back and side to side. Your baby's head can do the same thing. Your butt doesn't move the same way. It's not an exact science and you should be gentle of course, but if you think the head has moved and want to check, that's an easy way my midwife recommended. Only a u/s can confirm, but since most OBs/MWs aren't too concerned about breech babies until 35-36 weeks, it's not a bad idea to get familiar with flipping techniques and your baby's position. Good luck!
Totally too early to worry! Baby still have plenty of time to flip. My doctor will do an u/s at 36 weeks to see what position she's in. Until then she isn't worried.
No worries! Like all pps said the baby can move up to delivery and I was told by my midwives they don't really start to worry about position until about 35 weeks.
Friend of mines baby was laying transverse and would not move...she felt tons of movement one day around 38-39 w and boom baby was head down when they ultrasound to make sure! So babies for sure can move around in there.
Re: Breech baby at 30.5 weeks
DS flipped at 34w. I have heard of babies flipping clear up to delivery.
