GTKY: Music

I'm sitting here listening to one of my all time favorite albums, Facelift, by one of my all time favorite bands, Alice in Chains.

So tell me - what are YOU listening to & what are your favorites?!

My other faves include Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age & the Black Keys. I'm not all rock-n-roll, tho....I love me some Caro Emerald, The Gossip, Heart, Bruno Mars...just to name a few!

  • I love Beyonce and One Republic. I actually just won tickets on the radio to see One Republic this summer so I'm excited.

My teeny-bopper side of me will always love Backstreet Boys. BSB>Nsync anyday

  • I love all different kids. Love pop stuff (I want to be besties with Katy Perry), LOVE 90s music, especially the angsty women music, love reggea (ok, Bob Marley) and love really chill music.

Some favorites: Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Bob Marley, Regina Spektor, Hole, Garbage, Nirvana, Lorde, Bitter:Sweet, Drake, Macklemore, TLC, really all 90s music in general. That's all I can think of right now. It's all kind of an eclectic group.

80's pop music is my go to for a feel good mood, followed by electronic music, punk, hardcore, ska, country LOL seriously though, I love music in general. Why limit yourself to a specific genre?!

I forgot to mention Van Morrison! My husband and my song is "Someone Like You" and I think "Into the Mystic" is the best song to play on the lake of all time. What song were you listening to?

  • I think I have a very strange variety in what I like.  When people ask what I like and I say that I like anything, they think I am being difficult, but I really like a ton of things!

This morning, on my way to work, I listened to Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, Elton John, Billy Joel and Jimmy Buffet on Spotify (which I love, BTW).  I don't love country music, but I have artists that I like such as Alan Jackson.

    Anyway, I like a lot.  :)

  • I love all sorts of music. I was involved in the Texas music scene for several years and I've been rotating some of my favorite artists lately.

In my defense this is NOT the pop country that people think it is.

I am currently listening to the African Jazz station on Pandora.  If you like "world" music you should check it out, quite addictive and very easy to dance to.

My favorites though are Tom Petty, Paul Simon, Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd.

As far as "new stuff" I really like Foo Fighters and I kind of have a thing for Lady Gaga.

  • Man, Deftones and Korn...Brining me back to my high school days. I saw Staind in concert it was one of my favourites because it was at a small venue. Like somebody else said it so depends on my mood what I listen to. So in the early 90's I was only 7/8yrs old but I had teenaged siblings who had great taste in music and introduced me to music like Jimi Hendrix, Blondie, The Indigo Girls, The Doors, Madonna and a bunch more..So thankful for that!

  • I've seen Muse live 20 times since 2000, so yeah, Muse. I really love British rock music especially like FVK, Twin Atlantic, John Wean, ect. And also fairly mellow music like Martha Tilston, Kate Walsh, Bastille, Ed Sheeran, The XX. And strangely enough, Swedish electronic dance music like Swedish House Mafia and Avicci. Pretty much anything really.
