~*~ Tuesday's Getting Healthy Check-In ~*~

Merry Tuesday Ladies!

This check-in is not necessarily exercise-related.  I know a lot of us are trying to eat healthier and give up bad habits thanks to the motivation of pregnancy/new baby, so any kind of getting heathy is welcome here!

What did you do last week?

What are your plans for this week?

What's your long-term/mid-term goal?

GTKY: What's your favorite guilty pleasure drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic if you don't drink)?

And the leader board for participation!!

Vying for first place with seven weeks under their belts:
@kdc2007 - Excellent news that you're cleared to workout and more importantly that you feel able to do so!
@NicoleReed0324 - It's wonderful that you're feeling strong - that's a great accomplishment!
@phishgirl29 - Walking is still something!  Good job on sticking with the diet :-)
@Pitchslap - You'll have to let us know what healthy snacks help curb your unhealthy snacking!
@tiffletons518 - Going back on BC sounds like a bummer - but I hope it helps clear up hormone wackiness!
@tttwalters - Glad the weather is cooperating with your runs, and much luck with/hope the hill training went well!

And being wonderfully persistent at coming back to us - with 2 weeks in a row under her belt - @calikat80 - LOs getting on a schedule definitely helps in making workout plans!  Here's to hoping the sleep pattern continues!

Re: ~*~ Tuesday's Getting Healthy Check-In ~*~

  • Last week: worked out before work twice at 5 am and ran twice. Stuck with sit-up and push up challenge and did 100 squats every day. Diet decent.

This week: bad day yesterday (big meeting and lots of free bad for me food, long day so no working out) but already worked out this morning with the boys for 45 minutes so I'm feeling good! Hope to stick with lots of water and 5 servings of fruits and veggies diet wise. I always have so much more energy if I can stick with that!

Goal: in good strong shape by may to start marathon training. Need at least a 9 min mile base for 6 miles in my mind!

Drink: bad for me: love frozen margaritas and dark beer. Wine doesn't count as bad ever in my world because I'm Italian! I don't waste my calories on non alcoholic drinks, I'm a seltzer water as fun kinda girl.

  • Last week- finally started my period and lost half a lb. Worked out 5 days.

This week- already got a run in Sunday, but now my sweet family has given me the cold from hell so I'm just gonna do what I can.

Goal- 10 lbs by mid-May. And, I'd still like to try for the half at the end of next month even if I am walking a chunk of it.

Qotw- I am a sucker for shamrock shakes. And the calorie bomb coffee drinks.
  • What did you do last week?
Ran, I got lost on my 20k long run on Saturday and ended up running 30km. I texted DH at the 18 km mark asking him to come and pick me up, however he was busy and did not see my message. It was a good run, I just did not have the proper fuel so I was done Sunday and Monday.
What are your plans for this week?
There is a class at the Y, it is called Gravity and uses these weight resistance machines. It is a good workout, so I am going to try and go 2-3 times per week.
     (see pic below)
    What's your long-term/mid-term goal?
Sub 4 hour marathon and back in my skinny jeans by my birthday!
GTKY: What's your favorite guilty pleasure drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic if you don't drink)? Mojito's, I love them!

  • Last week I did well with working out but I have a sweet tooth that is developing! I don't really know where it came from, I have never been huge on candy. But now I can't get enough! I need to check that.

This week, eat the same for meals but lose the dessert most nights. (I'm all for an occasional splurge but my every day!)

Goal is stay healthy and keep getting stronger!

Drink: frozen daiquiri or on the rocks margarita. Mmmmm
  • Last week: stuck to a strict diet.
This week:  I plan I going to the gym 2 days!  Very excited about this!
    Goal:  tone!
Drink:  any red wine, pale ales,IPA's, etc. Not too picky ;)
