Ugh...2nd echo :(

Today I went in for my regular appointment, and because I'm high-risk, they did a growth u/s (the usual). For the second time, they saw a hole in her heart

and ordered another echo in 2 weeks. She asked if I wanted to do any chromosomal testing to look for any other soft markers. Not that testing can really change anything. Since I'm a stresser, I declined. Now I'm home stressing. End vent...

Try not to stress too much! It's totally possible that it will resolve on it's own before birth or even after baby is here. Even if it does not, it's possible (depending on where is located and how big it is) that it won't require surgery and can just be watched over the years. Keep us updated!

Sorry to hear this! Hope everything works out ok. My sister was born with a hole in her heart...she is totally fine and it closed on its own. Same thing happened only a few months ago with my colleagues baby and she is totally fine and hole is not growing. Thinking of you x

Try to keep your chin up. They saw what looked to be a pretty severe (needing surgery at birth) defect of my baby's aorta at my 18 week anatomy scan. I had my third echo today and things look to be resolving on their own. Of course we won't know for sure until after she is born, but you just don't know how this will go yet.

Genetic testing may not change anything, but it may ease some of your fears and if not, may give you some time to prepare yourself for how things will go down after birth. Either way, big hugs!

I'm sorry you're coping with this. I agree that you may want a blood DNA test just for peace of mind. It's very easy and non-invasive.
