October 2014 Moms

I've googled.

But I can't quite get a clear answer. What type of sinus (not allergy) medicine can I take? Or should I call the doc?

Re: I've googled.

  • My doctor said he was ok with Sudafed if I absolutely needed something, but to try to hold off if possible. I'd call your doc for advice.

Yeah, I've heard this too.  Zyrtec is okay, too, if you need an antihistamine.

But I'd still call your doctor and see what they say.

  • I know it's just sinus meds, but it always makes me so nervous when people ask the internet strangers what they should/should not take.

I will add a vote to ask your doc!

  • Definitely call your doctor, I highly recommend a neti pot. I would definitely try that before meds.

  • I am so diappointed, never Google... never. Ever. EEVVEERR! :)

I like @cocohkn suggestions as well. Typically my OB will state all the natural remedies before he will either Rx me something or give me medicine related advice.

What type of sinus symptoms are you having? Like a sinus headache, stuffy nose, etc?

  • Hot shower, blow nose in shower, drink 30 oz. of water, have a 1/2 of a diet coke, take 1 Tylenol*

*I am not really a Dr. so you should probably call your IRL Dr. and ask...

I sneeze all the time when PG. All. the. time. I just don't want to see you take medicine and not get any results... It's like when I have a migraine and take a Tylenol and the headache doesn't go away... because I was dehydrated. Dammit.

  • The hot shower works. But I'd have to stay in the shower. I literally can't blow my nose, even though it's running like crazy. I've been trying to stay hydrated. I figured the sneezing was due to the super power nose but it went from just sneezing to what I have now. I honestly think it might be allergies now. I went outside for like a minute and now my eyes are watering and my symptoms are worse. I'll try anything by this point.
