I knew this would happen the first time I introduce multiple new things to him
So he had something new last night; a little bites of strawberries (about a quarter of a regular size strawberry) and then this morning he had pureed pineapple with cereal. Daycare just called and told me he has a rash on his belly and I have no idea if it is the strawberries or the pineapple. Neither family has any food allergies.
My first thought is that strawberries are more allergy prone, but he had it last night. Could he develop allergic reaction to what he ate the night before? or is it pineapples because that's what he had an hour or two before his rash started?
And finally, what do it do? just leave it and watch if it spreads?
Thanks ladies...
Update: Called our pedi and he wants us to bring him in. He said it may even be something unrelated to food such as strep. He asked if he had any other issues lately. As I said in my TOAT this morning, he had not been sleeping well, very irritable, and had a fever friday night and saturday night. Because his tooth broke through overnight on saturday, I thought that was the culprit and that the next tooth was working its way through. And he's had congestion in the past 4-5 days. Now the Dr. wants to make sure it's not strep. I will be bringing him in after my meeting at 3.
Update2: we just left the pedi office. The dr doesn't think it allergies. Like
@elmoali said, considering the fever and congestion, they believe it is a viral infection related rash. It will go away on its own. Unrelated, he has an ear infection. So over the weekend he had an ear infection and a viral infection and cut his first tooth. No wonder he was so miserable!
