I delivered at St. Tammany and can't say enough good things about it. The only negatives I've heard about Lakeview is that you have to move rooms after you give birth. That before birth and for birth (if you're a vag delivery) you're in a nice spacious room and then you are moved to your postpartum room which is significantly smaller. Both hospitals offer tours of their facilities. Call and ask when they are and go see which one you're most comfortable with
I had a c-section and must say it was a great experience - better than anticipated. At STPH the surgery suite for c-sections is located on the maternity floor. Their unit is a square with the surgery suite in the middle. No going to another floor or area to have your surgery. Everything is self contained and done right there on that floor. I really liked that!
