Snuza users

I've had the Snuza for 2 weeks. When my LO would wear it was silent. Tonight however it's been beeping. Not alarm style, but a faint beep beep beep. We haven't used it enough to drain the battery, and the green light is still flashing (the battery low light is not on). It's on properly too.
What the hell is this? We can't find the manual and my DH is convinced it's a breathing alert saying he's not breathing deep enough or frequent enough....

Thoughts?

TIA (...btw,  I know I sound paranoid :)

  • Turn it off and back on. Ours does that when the buttons get pushed in a certain weird order. I had no idea what was happening the first time it did that.

The manual for ours doesn't say anything about that. Good luck!

  • Glad you fixed it. I think I remember reading there's a setting that actually gives a faint beep with each movement. All I could wonder is when that would be beneficial...?

Maybe if you were blind? I also read somewhere there is an option that will beep with each movement.

OP you do not sound parinoid, I'm right there with you. BTW, if you haven't already buy extra batteries now, mine only lasted about 3months.

  • If it's the hero, it will beep and flash yellow if baby's movements have slowed to a certain rate, this has happened once or twice when DS was in a deep sleep. Or it could just be that it lost contact with the baby once or twice.

Worth buying the snuza? Was considering it for when we move him to his own room....

I was considering it too. I'm guessing it's nice just for peace of mind.

Do it. Best money spent on anything for baby. So much more relaxed.

  • Yep. I'd be so much less relaxed without it. I wouldn't sleep well, she wouldn't be in her own room, just no. I'm so paranoid & it gives me great peace of mind. I'm nervous for when she isn't swaddled...my little wiggle worm may knock it off. We have also never had a false alarm & have tested our unit multiple times to know it works.

  • I wouldn't sleep without the snuza of course their are false alarms because the baby wiggles and it gets dislodged but I've learned not to panic if it beeps

This. There's a setting you can turn off that's a regular constant beep.

  • When it does go off the alarm comes from the unit itself and it beeps. We've had 2 false alarms, just slipped from poor placement, he hasn't woken up either time, but we did. We have the hero/halo version, that one will vibrate and try and stimulating babies breathing before alarming. I don't think all models do this though.

I believe the angel care alarm comes off the monitor, if you'd prefer that type.
