Maine vacation

We're thinking of visiting Maine as a family this June.  Anyone have any recomendations for a town to stay in that has some family friendly stuff nearby. On the ocean. Also, looking for a hotel with a nice pool and amenities for kids.  TIA!

    Acadia national park is gorgeous....Bar Harbor has great places to stay.

    We want to stay near the water but we realize that we wont be swimming in the ocean. Ideally, we would like to stay in a hotel/resort with a heated pool for swimming.  We plan to do some hiking/wandering/walking around with DS2 in the ergo, scenic drives, picnics, light shopping and most importantly good casual dining.

    We love this place in Old Orchard Beach. It's definitely not a resort, but we love it here, and it's perfect for a beach vacation. It's more cottage -y than fancy for sure... We chose an oceanfront room and we're glad we did. There's a pool. The pier is down the street with all sorts of rides and pizza, and french fries and soft serve ice cream! Total family fun!!!
