decorate this room

I have this sun room attached to my dining room, and off of my bedroom. I'm not sure really what to do with it, aside from putting plants in there.

Its heated, has electricity, and has partial window coverings.

I'd like some seating in there, but not sure if i put a regular couch in there, or ikea type furniture, or wicker outdoor furniture.

I'm looking to y'all for your options!

Re: decorate this room

  • That's adorable. I'd definitely have lots of plants and probably wicker type stuff in there to keep it nice and airy.

  • It might be just me but I'd totally turn that into a play area! Buy a play mat and playpen and then the living room would be free! (Unless you already have a good play space - we don't, toys rule our living room)

  • I would want something like this out there. image
And then a coffee table and 2 arm chairs over facing the fire place.

  • A big rug would warm it up a lot.  I'd also paint the red wall, as it seems too harsh for such a bright area and all of the light brick.  Would it work as a play area?  Maybe a round coffee table for board games/puzzles/coloring?  A small sofa and a couple of club chairs to create a seating area with the fireplace as the centerpiece of the room.

  • I was also thinking play area unless you have a better space.

  • Maybe like a reading/play area. Kinda like a quiet area to unwind at.
  • I'd have some fancy looking wicker furniture and plant-palooza.

  • I breifly thought of a play room, but the tile in there is uneven. I just don't really find it safe for a play room. Plus the floor, ugh its so hard! The tile in there is for outdoors. Its different then indoor tile.

I'd love to paint that red wall!! Actually every wall in this house-its not our house though, and i just don't even want to deal with it. We had so much renovations at our home in Texas, its nice not having to deal with that here, even wall color.

I am thinking nice wicker furniture, nothing cheap and ugly. Maybe a table or two, a lamp maybe, and yes...lots of plants.

I like the idea of a chase lounge chair. i also like the idea to add a throw rug.
    :)

My husband likes the idea of putting in a small couch and a chair. He sticks his nose up at wicker. @-)

  • I like the idea of it becoming a reading room...with a book shelf, wicker sofa/chaise lounge and plants. But, if you entertain often, it could be a really great space for a bar.
