3rd Trimester

Is a lazy day normal for baby?

It seems like yesterday and today she hasn't been moving very much.  Is it normal for a baby to have a "lazy" day?  I am 35 weeks pregnant.

Re: Is a lazy day normal for baby?

  • My baby has lazy days once in a while, and then she'll have a crazy day. I suggest doing what others said.

  • very normal.
keep in mind as you near 40w baby has less room to move.
if you're worried call your OB.
  • Thank you all for the replies.

BTW how did you add the pictures to your signatures?

    Thanks!

  • Yes, it happens. But I would listen to your gut. If you feel "off" or you still feel movement but it's not the same as usual, go in.

With this last baby (7w old now), I was told that it was great I listened to my instinct because he would've been stillborn if left another 2-7 days. He was born at 34w4d.

  • If ever u feel concerned, check with your OB. My LO had less movement, fluid ended up being low, which now resulted in hospital bed rest and I'm 33w3d. Baby may come today if fluid keeps dropping. Hope this isn't the same for you, but better safe than sorry.

  • yes it is normal. I had several days where my son use to not move much and would make me worry so i understand how you feel. However, if you truly feel that something is wrong, talk to your doctor asap so they can check for fetal movement.

  • my baby has done that. i think they wear themselves out. she will be all over one day and relaxed the next
  • My daughter will be crazy for a few days, then take a couple days to chill out. It's become sort of a cycle. I guess babies need to have lazy days. They are working hard on growing and fattening up. :)
  • I get worried when the baby is quiet as well, then sometimes I think my belly could use a break lol.

My mom said when she was pregnant with my sister she would get 1 kick a day to let her know she was still doing okay. Every baby is different.

  • Thank you guys for all the advice!  Everything was fine.  She was just having a slow day and her movement picked back up again the next day.  Sorry it took me a few months to respond.  I haven't been on here in a while.  :)
