Monday Gratitude

Because we all need some good to balance out the bad! *Studies show reading these can actually improve your mood as well.
Per usual:
  • 3-5 things you are grateful for today.
  • Baby or NBR, a-okay.
  • Be as specific or abstract as you want. No judgement here.

*I didn't read any studies. I am gonna read your lists though!

  • I am thankful x 3 for DH, who never makes me feel like I have to pretend to be or feel something I'm not. I am so grateful for how comfortable I am with him, especially now, when I am so, so, so uncomfortable.

And I am deeply grateful for MIL, who is basically making everything for our nursery for us. This weekend, she finished reupholstering our rocking chair and sewing our drapes. She is a total godsend.
That is amazing. I don't have a sewer like that in my family or DH's fam. My Mom is crafty but not in that way.

  • I am grateful:
    1. To have a job, even if I get stressed out.
    2. That I got to have some time for "just us" with my husband this weekend.
    3. For chocolate. And ice cream.
    4. Spring weather, which makes me want to be healthier in general.
    5. Having a secure budget and knowing we can afford this baby, even if we didn't get a single thing off our registry (we'd have to downsize our ideas, but we could do it!!)

Grateful to be able to stand, walk, and pee without tears. This weekend was severe RLP hell and it's easing up *knock on wood*. Never thought I'd be so grateful to feel normal!

And related to that, so grateful for family and friends who pitched in taking shifts with my kids while DH was working so I could lay in the couch and try to rest. They were amazing!

@otter1103 I have never been a huge fan of regular cake, even as a kid, so my mom has always made me a "sugar cookie cake" which is just a giant sugar cookie baked on a pizza pan, with sugar-cream cheese frosting and fresh fruit on top. This year she used fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and mandarin orange slices. I need to make sure I get at least one more piece before my husband devours all of it tonight!

Yea, we are incredibly lucky. We're obviously paying for all the fabric and everything, but my MIL is a genius. She even did the tabs for the drapes in this special way so that when they're pulled back, they won't bunch, but will rather fold in this super cool, elegant way. It's amazing.

  • DH, first and foremost.  He spent most of his weekend painting my old office, which needed about a million coats since I insisted on it being painted pink when we moved in.  He also went to the farmers' market yesterday and stocked up on veggies, that he will prepare and force feed to me (I know it's for my own good!) throughout the week.

Baby kicks, they make me feel so much better feeling them on a regular basis.

Personal day coming up on Friday, looking forward to sleeping in!

Grey's Anatomy and Scandal come back on Thursday and a new season of Survivor starts on Wednesday!  Excited to get my TV on!

  • First and foremost, this thread! I loving taking a pause on Monday morning and being grateful that all my Bump Buddies have good things happening.

Second, my little DS. At 15 months, he is over the whole "snuggle and fall asleep on me" phase which is bittersweet. This morning he was super tired, so I laid down with him in our guest room hoping for some snuggles. He immediately fell asleep. I did too. About 45 minutes later, he woke up, saw me, smiled, and swung his arm around my neck then went back to snoring. Love, love, love that kid.

Third, my DH for waking up early this morning and cleaning up our kitchen, bathroom, and living room so I could start the day with a clean slate. He's totally taking over cleaning of our house since my back has been on fire for the last few months.

Fourth, being a work at home momma and getting to wear PJs all day. I do not miss professional work clothes AT ALL!

Five, my portable DVD player. Letting me watch old TV shows and rom-com's from my work area/woman cave/craft room!

  • I'm thankful for an amazing DH, ILs and friends and that he has a flexible job because we just decided we're moving, thankfully its only next doir but we're moving and only have 4 days to fix up the new house and be out of this one. Also thankful I will have a nursery. But the next four days I will probably be MIA so we can clean, pack, and move. Yay for moving, Bleh for only four days. Pregnancy + two tots = the next four days will be a hectic mess lol
  • I am grateful for a semi easy workday, that my DH will be home in less than 2 weeks and my cuddly dog.

  • 1. I am SOO thankful for Pepcid Complete

    2. Thankful for my husband who has really been making an effort to help me around the house and with dinner. He even started cleaning out the man cave/nursery to be without me even asking.

    3. Thankful for the opportunity to back in school working towards my dream of becoming a nurse. I know it will be tough with a baby but I know I can do it!!!
