everything goes in the mouth

Anyone have an idea of when this "everything goes in my mouth" phase ends? My son puts EVERYTHING in his mouth! He eats his books, toys and my hair (which bugs me the most). :-/

  • Ditto 18 mos.  However, there is a reason toys are 3 and up.  My DD is 3 and still struggles with it.
  • I was wondering the same thing!  DS is 18 months and still puts most things in his mouth.  Looking forward to that stopping.

  • 19 mo daughter still doing it. I sent an email this weekend asking Grandma if she had eaten yellow crayon by the look of her poop. Answer back was "Either that or dried corn from the duck food when we went to the park... The little bugger is fast!" Lol. I, too, am looking forward to this stage ending.
  • DD just hit 18 months and it hardly happens at all anymore.

everything went in her mouth until 3 or 4 months ago- rocks, sea shells, sand, chalk, grass, leaves...omg it was gross.

we went to the beach they other day and she played in the sand all day and didn't put anything in her mouth. it then made me notice how she doesn't put random things in her mouth anymore.

    15-18 months I'd say.

  • I'm still waiting for this phase to stop. DS is 20 months old :(
