nausea after eating

hello everyone, anyone else have problems with nausea after eating? I've just recently started my "morning sickness" this past week..I wake up starving and then when i do eat, I am super nauseated after i eat for at least an hour..any suggestions?

Re: nausea after eating

  • I've been trying to eat less, and it has been working.

For breakfast, I will have a small glass of orange juice, vanilla yogurt, and Kashi cereal OR juice, a grapefruit, and oatmeal.

  • My nausea just started this weekend and it really only occurs after I eat.  I keep lemon heads near by or some sort of sour candy and the second i feel it coming on I pop a few candies and it seems to help.

  • Yep, most of the time my nausea is after I eat. I haven't actually vomited yet, but have nausea for a while afterwards. It's a vicious cycle! The more water I drink the better I feel though.

  • This is me, too.  A lot of people have to eat a little something constantly, but I find the moment I take a bite of anything I just feel sick.  Not fun.

I haven't really found a consistent way to combat it.  The best I've found is to eat a few bites at a time of high protein high fiber foods and lay down and rest after.
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
  • I've had no nausea... Until last night after dinner. I actually hope it IS mornings sickness, after reading that people with M/S are less likely to M/C. I slowly drank a Vernor's and felt a little better. I think Vernor's is pretty regional, but if you can get your hands on it, it's an awesome stomach- settler!

  • I've had terrible nausea all week though no vomiting. Before this week I only felt it when I ate - now it's all day. That was until I started wearing Sea Bands. I picked them up mid-week and the nausea is mostly gone. When I do feel it, it's very slight. The Sea Bands help me get through the work day - I'm a professional organizer and self-employed so I see multiple clients every day. And taking down time means not getting paid. So, I'm thankful for Sea Bands.
  • Try eating smaller meals it help me i have nausea all day especially when.i get really hungry but its worse if i try eating large portions

  • Yes, although this weekend it has gone from nausea at times and after eating to full-blown all day sickness. I experienced this w DS for 8 mos and am praying this will run a much shorter course. I didn't find any miracles w last pregnancy sometimes things worked sometimes not-Zofran helped w DS but gave me severe HAs. Phenergan sometimes helped but made me super tired. Mint, ginger, sour things, small meals, sea bands, fizzy things, etc. are all worth a shot. Hope it gets better for you soon!!!!
  • I have not really had any m/s as of yet.  In fact, my main issue is quite the opposite.  For two weeks I am starving almost constantly: I have to eat roughly every 2 hours and mostly small meals or snacks.  For the last 2 days, however, I am feeling a little sick (not really nausea, just don't feel well) after I eat.  It does seem like the feeling is less when it's a small snack rather than a large main meal.

I have opposite nausea -- meaning if my stomach starts to get empty I start to feel nauseated. And the longer I wait to eat, the more nauseated I feel. But it's tricky b/c not much food sounds appetizing. So, what I do is try to graze throughout the day. I keep granola at my desk and eat a spoonful or two every 30 min or so between meals. Dinner stretches out three to four hours, eating tiny bites here and there throughout the night. When I get up in middle of night for sure I will eat a couple saltines whether or not I'm hungry to avoid empty stomach when I wake up in the morning. And then when I wake up in the morning for sure I will eat more crackers before getting up.
