STMs, what did it feel like right before your water broke? Was it a surprise? right when you stood up? Could you feel it coming? Take away this anxiety. I keep having dreams I'm at work when it happens. Ahh!!!
Mine started with a slow leak at work. I noticed it when I would stand up or sit down. I actually thought it was my mucus plug starting to come out for awhile. After a few hours it slowly increased then started turning pink. Finally checked into the hospital that night and when I stood up in the ER it gushed, I had no idea it was going to happen and I don't remember feeling a pop or anything.
When mine broke with DS, I was actually in the middle of pee'ing. I heard a pop then it felt like I was pee'ing but I couldn't stop. When I sat forward it stopped, when I leaned back, it started again. The baby's head can act like a stopper so if you move around, it can start or stop the flow. But at no time did I question whether or not my water had broken, I knew!
Mine was in the middle of the night. I rolled over and felt a pop. For a second I thought about going back to sleep but decided to check. I grabbed the towel I had next to the bed just in case. I started leaking pretty bad on the way to the bathroom and sat on the toilet and there was a huge gush.
I was walking down the hallway in my home when I felt like I was peeing and couldn't stop. I didn't really feel anything but grabbed a towel and some pads. Definitely knew my water broke and it was a constant slow flow for me.
The majority of the time, your water doesn't break until contractions start. With my first, it popped in early labor - wasn't a big gush (I was walking around at the time and it didn't overflow the liner I was wearing) - just sort of leaked for the rest of labor. With my second, it didn't break until I was about to push - didn't notice at all as I was in the tub.
Mine broke while I was sitting in the bed in L&D triage. I'd been having contractions for about 12 hours prior. I didn't feel much besides a warm rush. And it was relieving. Actually felt good.

Pretty much this exactly. I was on the toilet, felt a pop, and a little gush. On the drive to the hospital, I didn't leak at all, just a trickle here and there. It was as definitely not a huge dramatic watery explosion.
And for the record, I didn't have so much as one contraction prior to my water breaking.

I was asleep in bed and felt a small gush kinda like if you start your period in the middle of the night. It then trickled out in little spurts as I moved around gathering my things. I didn't hear the pop and I didn't feel contractions until 5 hours later.

I was in bed in L&D being induced. I woke up and felt a small gush. I told the nurse and she said it was probably just the gel she had used to check me earlier. I got up to go to the bathroom and it was running down my legs. I laid back down and asked her to check me and when she did there was a huge gush.
My water also broke with no contractions with my first. I was lying in bed and thought I was peeing myself. When I stood up there was a gush, and it continued, slow and steady. Contractions didn't start for a while afterwards.
I read somewhere once that only about 13% of all women experience their water breaking prior to contractions starting, so the odds are pretty low.
My water broke in labor both times. There was no feeling right before that told me it was about to break. I knew it broke because I felt the pop and then gush of fluid.

I woke up at like 2am to pee. I went and walked back to bed and something just felt wrong. It was like that feeling you get sometimes when you just know your period it is going to start any second. When I'd gone to bed that night I'd see a tiny bit of blood so I ran to the bathroom expecting to see blood again and I had no sooner sat down again and it was a huge woosh and I was utterly stunned. My birth was technically PPROM, preterm premature rupture of membranes which means I didn't have any contractions beforehand which is unusual but I still felt something was "off" enough to make it to the bathroom so try not to stress. PPROM is less than 3 percent chance and regular PROM (which means you are full term) is less than 15 percent so try to not stress about it. It actually made things easier in a way since I'd been stressing about how I'd know when I needed to go to the hospital but when my water broke there was no questions I needed to go straight there.
I went to the bathroom, thought I was done peeing, stood up, and for a second, thought, I was still peeing. I soon realized my water had broken, it was never a big gush, but there was leaking pretty much from then on. Drove to the hospital with a towel between my legs. My contractions began about 2 hours later.
Mine didn't break until my 35th hour of labor when I had already been pushing for about 45 min. It just felt like a pressure release and DD was born about 15 minutes later.
I was already in the hospital being induced they had just started pit and I was laying there I heard and felt to really loud pops and felt a huge gush. It was definitely a surprise. With this pregnancy every pop I hear I wait for a gush lol I'm a STM that's still parinoid about it! lol
I got a slow leak in mine. Woke up in the morning and kept feeling stuff coming out. Had to put a new liner in like every 10 minutes. I knew what it was, but I was kind of in denial lol.
