Exhaustion

I'm just not shaking this overwhelming and paralyzingly fatigue. It's so bad and I'm a toddler mom, so despite this horrific feeling, I have to power through (I also work full time). Anyone have tips or suggestions? I just... I can't... Sigh...

Re: Exhaustion

  • No advice, but I'm dealing with it too. It's hard. Especially with a toddler. I'm hoping it gets better as we hit second tri.

  • I wish I had advice. I am dealing with the same thing and I don't have a toddler so I could only imagine. I hope that it gets better for you soon.

  • I feel for you! I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I work from home when they are asleep and Ds2 still comes in my room at night. I'm exhausted but pushing through. Do you have any one to help and give you a break? Even just to take a nap or relax for a little bit?

  • Well I'm not alone but I wish you all didn't feel like this too! It's miserable...

DH is no help at all and never has been. My mom comes one day on the weekends, so that's helpful! But doesn't recharge me enough to get me through the next day. I'm 11 weeks... I'm ready for my energy back :/

  • I'm 11 weeks too and I feel like after a week off from school for February break my exhaustion is at its worst. I'm hoping the routine of work will restore some sense of energy. Alternately, I could fall asleep standing at my smart board. I guess we'll see how it goes. Good luck everyone!

  • I'm right there with you... I find it hard to keep my eyes open some days.  I also have this arthritic pain in my joints (which is new to me) and it makes me even more miserable.

I have a 6 m/o, so the bending, lifting, is a little rough.  I was hoping to catch a break on the weekends when DH is home, but no suck luck.  He thinks an hour alone with the baby is good for him.

  • Sorry I don't have any tips or suggestions but just wanted to tip my hat to you (and other STMs) who are handling the exhaustion with other little ones around, and work for some! I couldn't even imagine. It's all I can do to get through my 40hr work week. bleh. A little over a week until the 2nd trimester starts for me though---we'll see if it lets up! Hope it does for all of you soon as well!

  • I'm right there too. Can sleep 12 hour clips like its nothing and pretty much always go to sleep when my 5 yo do these days. I hope more energy is on the horizon!

  • Drink lots of water, and maybe a little coffee (check with you OB first, but it should be fine in moderation). That's all I've been able to do.

  • What @chusum said. Water water water...it helps.

My exhaustion from 1st tri with DD (2 years ago) has never gone away, just blended and morphed into different types and levels of exhaustion.
