What is your baby's favorite vegetable?

Connor absolutely loves brussels sprouts. He was eating them as fast as I was putting them on his tray. He could not get enough.

Re: What is your baby's favorite vegetable?

  • Avocado if you count that as a vegetable. Otherwise he loves sweet potatoes or pumpkin.

  • Sweet potatoes/squash, but I don't really think of those as "true" vegetables because they're not green, haha. His favorite green vegetable is asparagus, and he loves it!

  • I haven't tried Kale yet. Does it taste like any other vegetable?

  • Butternut squash, acorn squash and sweet potatoes. She really likes everything though. She is such a fatty. ;-)

  • Everything but peas. Mainly because he prefers to squish each one rather than eat it.

Probably most similar to collard greens if you cook it. It's pretty bitter if you eat it raw, but I made a decent kale salad last night with craisins, walnuts, and a lemon juice/olive oil dressing.

I love collard greens! I should see about getting some soon then. Thanks!

  • Catherine's favorite veggie is hands down carrots. After that, I'd say sweet potatoes. She eats pretty much anything we put in front of her, though.

Exactly! I make a watermelon salad with watermelon chunks, kale, kalmata olives, olive oil, & white wine. It's delish.

  • I'm going to say asparagus. I let him chew on my corn cob the other day though and he thought that was awesome. He tried to take it from me.

  • Anything that I'm eating!
Mostly peas but so far everything.

  • Sweet potatoes/squash.
Peas are probably his second fav.
He'll eat broccoli but not pureed.  He only likes it when he gets to munch on the little trees himself I guess...

  • He loves asparagus, broccoli and sweet potatoes.

How do you make the Brussel sprouts @ClandestineX? Steam, boil or sauté? Also do you cut them into smaller pieces?

If they are fresh, you can steam them for a while. I grew up on them boiled and to me, steaming tastes only just a little better. When I am being extra lazy I buy them in the steam bags you get in the frozen aisle and throw it in the microwave.

I give him chunks of it the size of his thumb still, maybe a tiny bit bigger. He loves the inside (yellowish part) more than the green outside.
