Tendonitis?

Has anyone dealt with it before? I've been hanging out with Dr. Google and I'm pretty sure I've got tendonitis in my elbow.

The pain came on gradually over a couple of weeks, first only when I put pressure on it but now it hurts whenever I bend my arm.

Everything I'm reading says there isn't much you can do outside of ice, rest, and ibuprofen (which hopefully I can take soon...). Anyone that's had it have any tips/tricks/recommendations?

And I know, I know, I should talk to a doctor. Hopefully I'll have time soon!

Re: Tendonitis?

  • I had it in my shoulder a few times as a kid. I played serious tennis. There really isn't much the doctor can do but I would still go see them to make sure that is what it is. I had a prescription version of Icy hot and that was all I did.

I think there are braces you can get for your elbow so check with a doctor.

  • Ouch I have it in my knee and I use runners tape and a strap that acts like a brace. Of course icing when it's swollen can help a bit. I don't know if that helps with your elbow but I feel your pain. Try to limit movement for a few days...feel better !
  • Ouch! Tendinitis sucks! Since it's in your elbow, my one suggestion would be to try stretching your pecs a few times a day. You might be swollen at this point, and I assume your breasts har increases (sorry if overly presumptuous). Anyway, that can put tension and strain on your pectoral muscles. Some nerves, particularly the medial nerve , run under your pecs and can contribute to elbow and wrist pain if they're impinged. If it's truly tendinitis, this might not offer too much relief, but there's a chance it could help.
  • I had it when I had DD.
as a result of holding baby, and BFing.

Get help soon, because once baby is here, it will be harder to fix, and may actually get worse.
