Baby CPR

Just saw this story, and couldn't help but see a resemblance in size/age with our little ones.

Good reminders - I'm a bit rusty with CPR at the moment, so it was worth the read:

Re: Baby CPR

  • I believe the guidelines have changed, if you are alone you do not do breaths just compressions until a second party shows up. At least where I work (hospital), that is what we are taught. I'm not sure if it is the same with infants, I will have to ask.

DH and I took infant CPR last summer and the guidelines we were taught are 30 compressions and 2 breathes like the article says. If you're alone do it for five minutes then call 911
This is what we learned, as well.  Took a class just before Lillian was born.

  • Maybe it's different for a hospital setting.

  • Thanks for posting this--we took a course before DS1 was born but that was almost three years ago now. Good to have a refresher and know what's current practice.
