I am a FTM my DS IS 3 months old and will be 4 months next Thursday (Feb 27). My son got his first cold. It started off as a little cough 4 days ago and since yesterday its more harsh and now his nose is a bit runny. He has no fever and his snot is clear. He is still his happy little self . I am just wondering how approximately how long a cold will usually last?? he has his 4 months needles next Friday (Feb 28) and wondering if he will be able to get them or not?? I have been breastfeeding him more often through out the day to help him fight this off. Also wondering if I should be sucking the snot out of his nose often? He is still able to breath good through his nose while feeding. I can hear it sometimes rattling inside his nose, so then I sucks it out but not sure if I am doing more harm than good. Sorry for the long post, any information on this would be greatly appreciated thanks ladies!
Re: cold and 4 month needles?
Ditto about the saline drops. Just make sure you're not suctioning too much. My pedi said then it could dry out his nose.
The baby Vicks is great. You can put it on the bottom if his feet and opus socks on at bedtime. Not sure if this actually works, but we've done it with DS1 for quite some time. Now he'll actually ask for it when he has a cold!
Good luck!! It's hard when they're so little!
