Apartment Living- Stairs !!!!

Hi all, 
I have twin girls and we recently moved into a townhouse which is great and a huge increase in space from our tiny 2 bdroom in the same complex, however to get up to our apartment there are 4 or 5 stairs and 2 stairs up to our door. i have a maclaren twin techno and i am finding it terrifying especially due to the snow, sand, and salt that is on our stairs to bring them up and down. Does anyone have any tips on how you get  your multiples down and up stairs in stroller or do you babywear 1 and carry the other?

    I wouldn't keep them in a stroller for transporting on stairs even if the stairs were bare, to be honest. It'd be a better (and safer) idea to set up the stroller on the ground level and carry both girls down to the stroller.
