Can you feel yourself ovulating?

Ok, I know people will make fun of me for this question, but I'm used to that by now.

Can you feel when you ovulate? I know it's uncommon, but I could swear I felt it this afternoon. It was kind of funny because DH and I are TTC, and I told him we had to have sex either this afternoon or tonight. He chose tonight, but then we were driving somewhere and I said, "I think you just missed your opportunity." He had been asking if he could change lanes, and he thought I was talking about that, but actually I was talking about getting KU this month.

So to make a story long and boring...

Am I crazy, or has someone else felt this?

  • Lol, @haygurlhay, yes. Maybe they'll give each other a high five when they meet.
  • I can feel it. It is very painful which is common with endometriosis. I can't feel the exact moment though more like it hurts that day or two.

  • Cervical mucous is a much better indicator.  That's how I knew I could probably get pregnant if I had sex, lol.

This. Seeing is believing. And you best believe I stayed far away from the peen this week.

  • I just came in here to see what @luckydad had to say about this subject. Not disappointed.
Glad I could satisfy your interest.

  • I've had very painful ovulation since getting my period back after LO. The IUD might be causing some of it but it's miserable. A week of worse than menstrual cramps.

Without you I'll never make it out alive

@JerseySprouts, @proudworkingmom82, the missed your opportunity comment was because I figured that if I was ovulating at that moment, it would be too late to get KU because we were at the beginning of a 2 hour car trip. DH thought I meant he missed his opportunity to change lanes.

We'll still have sex tonight (hopefully), but we'll have to wait and see if it "works."

I always thought you still had time after ovulation- like at least 12-24 hours.  That's why I was like huh? Cause if you had sex tonight and it had only been like 8-10 hours since ovulation you would still have a shot.

  • Good, there's still a chance! I'll try really hard to see if I can feel the sperm meet the egg. Jk.
  • I get painful cramps when ovulating, which I first started noticing about a year after DS was born.
  • Right side only. Dislike.

  • Yep, I can feel it. Mostly on the right side only. Can be pretty painful.

If you've done the hibbidy dippity in the last 5 days you're still in the game too. Good luck! ;)

  • @WhoCanItBeNow, some people can't. I mean, physically, you can, but DH will not.
  • I guess? I have random cramps around that time but never attributed it to much. I am definitley not in tune with my body. <------ clueless
  • Yes, I have pain in the side thats ovulating. It hurts pretty bad. Sex helps relieve the pain oddly enough. I think my body tries to get me knocked up every month.

  • Yep, every month. Since the paraguard it's been much worse.
  • I sometimes get tenderness on my right side.
