Is it just me?

Is it just me or do you get weepy a whole lot easier then prior to pregnancy/birth? Being an ER nurse, you never let 'em see you feel or cry...I'm glad I don't work in that environment anymore, because I would probably cry about everything!

  • dangit. i picked the wrong one. i've always been a crier.

  • I've never been an easy to cry person but I'm definitely more sensitive these days. I feel silly when I cry watching a show on TV but I just can't help it!!

  • My FFFC today was that I just randomly cried in my car on my way in to work this morning while listening to Olympic updates.

  • I have never been a crier...I probably cry like every other year (I blame my brother who used to make fun of me when I cried and told me to stop being a baby...ut oh, flashbacks!)...but birth has deft made me a softy.

  • Becoming a mom has definitely made me a softy. I mean, the Olympics always make me cry but this year it's been crazy emotional every time I turn it on. It's those mom commercials dang it!!! They give me the feels.

  • I picked the first option. I'd always tear up easier than most at movies and things, but lately the littlest things will cause me to break down into tears. Some of that I blame on PPA, but I cry even more at movies and things like that and I think that's just normal now.

  • I find that I get much more weepy when I'm so tired and exhausted. My tolerance for sad stuff went down a little after DS, and now after DD it's in the toilet.

  • I was hard to the core. It could have been from working in tv news. Lots of yelling, swearing and reporting on awful things. But now I cry at everything. Total. Wreck. It's flipping embarrassing. Don't get me started how many times I have cried watching the Olympics.

I said sort of because I am way more sensitive to anything that involves children or babies now.

On a side note I have WAY more food cravings than I did while pregnant. I hope that lets up soon otherwise I am going to have to join overeaters anonymous and buy more sweatpants.

yes!!!  And the Xgames skiier that they featured last night who died hitting her head during a practice years ago.  Her parents were talking about her with such joy.  Oh man that had me.

I do cry a lot now, much more than before.

  • Before being pregnant, I cried at sad movies, shows, commercials, etc.  It happened all of the time.  During pregnancy, I rarely got sad like that.  I laughed inappropriately all of the time at the wrong things.  Now, I"m back to blubbering.

  • SS: I cried through 99% of my pregnancy. Now I can't produce tears to save my life. Don't get me wrong, now anything negative that's child related devastated me where as before it just made me sad, but the crying won't happen. It's kind of bad because I feel like I can't always get my emotions out :/ I have fake cried to get a point across too... :^o

funny you say that - I knew you were getting soft on us @amjoy25

eta: I've been meaning to say that as my FFFC for the past 3 weeks

Eta: not that it's flame worthy. I will shut up now, you get the point.

  • I was always the reasoning logical being that would theorize over the emotion of crying but rarely cried. Death of family members broke me down but ended up hardening me to any further emotion.

Since giving birth, the floodgates of emotion have opened up. There's a sappy commercial on? Tears. There's a documentary about how a lioness loses her cubs? Downpour. Happy endings to movies? Waterworks. The well has opened for business and there is no sign of it running dry anytime soon.

  • Always been a crier but after having DS it has gone up a notch. I'm like a blubbering idiot at times, it's a little pathetic.

  • It has definitely changed me.  I only cried about things in my life before and now I find myself crying about little things.  I had people at work telling me how soft I have become since having a baby.

  • Not much of a crier, but things related to babies and children pretty much break my heart.
  • I don't know if it's zoloft for my PPD but I rarely cry anymore. If I do it's usually just from pure exhaustion. I have always been a crier so it's weird but nice, especially when it comes to work and stressful traumas/situations.

  • Just finished majorly balling. I literally have mascara on my neck I cried so hard. My mom was supposed to come for a couple days to visit, but she missed her flight, then the other flight she got is majorly delayed... I guess it just wasn't meant to be, but I am so so disappointed.

Granted I would have cried about this before, but now I can't stop crying. Sigh. Living apart from my mom sucks majorly.

  • Always been a cryer... Had ugly tears walking down the aisle at my wedding... But after moving away from my parents I hardened up a little bc I hated crying at the airport every time one of us would leave again... After getting pregnant yeah I'm definitely a softy again! The Olympic moms commercials, the Clydesdales, Frozen, I'm a mess!

DEFT!! I can't imagine a child or baby in the ER now. I. Would. Cry.
I work in the ER.  I can usually just separate myself, but they had a 3mo with a brain bleed that got flown out a few weeks ago.  The 3 yo sibling dropped him.  It was awful and hit everyone hard.  We have a lot of new mama nurses.  We were all in tears, esp w a LO of the same age.

So awful!!!! Definitely made me tear up!

I don't even let my 6 year hold his brother unless he's sitting down (he's not well coordinated enough and refuses/complains about bringing in a shopping bag if it's "too heavy", which is less than 5 pounds).

I remember talking about this during pregnancy @Amjoy25
I hate crying, I feel way too vulnerable! I have a strict "No crying in the kitchen" policy at work.

But I definitely tear up much more easily than before I had kids, mainly during movies, the news, reading articles or the bump, etc. I purposefully try to avoid reading anything with a trigger.

Eta posted in the wrong post. But yes, I cry way more now. Sometimes, when telling dd I love her I start to cry and laugh at what an idiot unicorn I am.

  • I cry all the time right now, I blame the ppd.

It is pretty much daily. I cried for an entire naptime last week. I really try hard not to cry in front of the girls but it is tough.

Life is just overwhelming right now and no one IRL seems to care so I feel alone.
