Convertible cvarseat

Which convertible carseat do you have/think it the best? I bought Graco myride 65 for both my boys in the past and ended up having the buckle issues that are finally being recalled. Now I'm trying to decide if I should get something different for my daughter. I don't want to spend more than $150. I want one with cup holders.

Re: Convertible cvarseat

  • There is no "best" seat because the best one is the one that fits your car and child best and works for your budget.  Yes, Gracos have recalled their buckles but the seats are still safe and the newer seats currently on shelves already have the new buckles so don't be hesitant to buy another Graco.  It was a usage issue, not a safety issue.

The MyRide, while a fine seat, is outgrown earlier than other options because it doesn't have an adjustable headrest.  It's also a large seat.  Where does your daughter fall on the height and weight percentile charts?

  • We have the Chicco next fit. I think once lo gets used to it she will like it a lot more. It has a cup holder. The directions for it suck, though.

  • We just got the evenflo SureRide Dlx and we love it. It comes with a removable cup holder, has an adjustable headrest, and is $100. It was on sale at bru last week for under $90, so you may even be able to find it on sale still.

There is a really helpful facebook page for carseats. Its called car seats for the littles. You can post what your looking for, car type, child info and get responses from lots of people and carseat techs.

  • I know it's not in your budget of 150$ but if you can't find something that meets your needs in that budget I highly reccomend the peg perego pv convertible seat! It's pricey yes but the quality is absolutely amazing and it fits nicely in my tiny car which is surprising. It can go rear facing up until 45 pounds which is one of the reasons I spent a little bit more money than I wanted to. Installation is simple too which is always a bonus.
