Introduction (New to Fostering)

Hello! My name is Alicia and I have been lurking for a while. :) My husband and I are just deciding to begin foster care (we hope to adopt but know the goal is the child's best interest, no matter what that is). It seems like a pretty intense process even just starting! We just looked into FCCY and are wondering how any one else is going about foster care? What organization etc. are you using? We are SO new to this FCCY seemed like the easiest route but I just don't know

A little bit about me: I've been married for 2+ years and we now have our first home with two kitties and a bunny :) We love to watch movies, cook, and read. That's the total excitement of my life, lol! I also work as an Asst. Bakery Manager- that's fun too! Sorry for the weird intro but I'm happy to be here!

    Good luck with everything!  I think right now the worst part of the fostering application process is the waiting and paperwork.  We've finally made our way through the paperwork and now we are waiting to hear back from a DCF licensing specialist (two weeks) to setup the first home study appointment. 

    From what I've been reading here, experiences vary and they seem to be very intertwined with the SW.

    Hi and welcome. We are doing the foz adopt program thru the state of ca and using the Kinship center. I absolutely love my SW and very happy with how things are progressing so far. We are also almost done with most of the heavy paperwork and hopefully will have our first interview in the next month.and home study to follow.
    Me 34 and DH 39 married in aug. 2002
    Did 5 round of clomid 2010 =BFN
     High levels of NK CELLS DX sept.2012 DOR:# 0.02 
    IVF #1 May 2012  ER 4, EF 2, ET 2 =BFN
    MINI IVF Oct.2012  Cancelled 10-27-12
    Ivf #3 Antagonist Protocol April 2013
    Shared cycle..Donor cycled in July Got 12 eggs 9 fertilized and 8 frozen!!
    DE FET #1 Sept. 3rd 2013 FIRST BFP EVER 5dp5dt
    miscarried Sept 24th at 5 weeks 5 days
    Etopic  D&C and hysterscopy Nov 5 2013
    dx with pre genetic blood clotting dec 2013
    FET #2 Jan 31st  2014 
    Miscarried for a second time again at 5 weeks 5 days
    Currently fostering to adopt an amazing little 1 year old boy..P.J!
    FET#3  is Oct 29th 2014
    BFN on fet #3
    Last and FINAL FET coming JAN 28th 2015
