Do you mind telling me about your child's OCD? What sort of behaviors, what age, etc?
My youngest (35-weeker) is doing really great, but my husband I joke (we shouldn't probably joke) that he has OCD. A part of me thinks he's a toddler, but a small part of me actually wonders.
My husband has mild tourette's, and with Andrew being on the spectrum...it also makes me wonder as I know they are related. My husband used to ask if Andrew was on the spectrum when he was little and I brushed it off.
Thanks

Re: Zeidy01
His actually started very young, around two years old. He had triggers that would set him off, like balls. He needed to have things lined up a certain way and would spend hours getting it just right. One time he lined up all my laundry baskets and all the balls he had from one end of the house to the other. If you tried to re direct him he would have such an anxiety from it that it broke my heart.
His OCD got a little better a year later and now he's five and his OCD is back with a vengeance.
Now he has a routine for everything, the worse one is when using the bathroom. He needs to do this thing with his sleeves and a specific noise he makes while pulling his sleeves up and down,...If I break that routine he will hold it in and cry until his routine is done correctly, if not he will try over and over again.
Same goes for his morning an night routine.
It's really driving me crazy.
He also just goes ballistic if he can't finish something, but to your lining up baskets example, his would be more like doing a puzzle. So I'm not sure that's abnormal. I have to watch that he doesn't start one near itstimecyo leave our house because he loses his mind.
Cannot break routine no not ever. I wasn't sure again this wasn't a normal toddler thing.
It drives me craaazy. It's also hard for me to know what's normal since my oldest isn't typical at all. He's also the totally opposite of OCD.
I think maybe he does have a tendency there. Not sure if it's actually an issue or will be in school though. I hope not.
Thanks!
