Formula question

I'm not pumping enough and need to intro formula. The directions say to shake it. I don't want to get air in it. Can I mix with spoon? Not sure what to do.

Re: Formula question

  • Mixing it with a spoon will not thoroughly mix up the formula. Your bottles should have or come with lids. When you shake it just put the lid on it and then air won't get in it. They tell you to shake it for a reason.

  • Shake and let it settle.  It'll happen quickly.

  • We use Dr. Brown bottles (LO is EFF) and they are the best for "air" that we've found. We just shake with the nipple already on it and have very minimal problems with air.

  • You can pre make bottles a few hours before and put them in the fridge then when you have to use them just use warm water to get them to room temp

This is what we did when we used powdered formula.

This works for us as well.... The bubbles settle quickly if you let it sit for a second.
