Maintaining Hope

What things do you do to help maintain the hope of having another pregnancy/baby? These may be things you think are sorta crazy, but share anyway.

I buy things for my next baby. I have a take home outfit, an adorable knit booty and hat set, a lovey and blanket. All tucked away for a child that I hope to have. I feel that if I just keep believing that it will happen, then it will...eventually.

Although we do ask DS regularly if he wants a brother or sister and he always says "no." Some idiotic part of me feels like if he finally says "yes!" maybe we'll be successful. I know that's ridiculous but it creeps into my conscious mind from time to time.

I haven't been able to give away any of DS old clothing and baby stuff and I've been having DH move it to storage instead of giving it away. I think he thinks I'm crazy, but I'm like just in case, you never know, it could happen and then we'd have nothing...ugggg..

I buy stuff occasionally, I just try to keep it in my mind that we will have another child, and H is the same way. The most important thing for me is to try to stay positive in general, not just about TTC, when I start feeling down (about anything) I start to feel like it's never going to happen. I try to read books with a positive message, pray, and meditate when I need it.

I talk positively saying things like "this Christmas everyone will have to come to us bc I'll either be too pregnant to travel or have Bobo and won't travel anyway." Yeah, we named our next kid Bobo tentatively. I had a dream (another dream- crazy me lol) that I was pregnant and dd was poking my belly asking me what the baby's name was. I didn't know and said "Bobo!" So that stuck. She was Eunice throughout my pregnancy with her- I try and pick crazy things so by the time everyone heard real name they are like, "Oh, that is much better!"
I also buy clothes and what nots. Dd has a couple Big Sister shirts she will probably outgrow before she gets to wear them- but I'll just buy another- becaus this is the year!!!
We also just watch and play w DD and talk about the funny things our next one will do and the sibling rivalry that will ensue. DD has a hilarious streak so if we are ever down we focus on her and her shenanigans. Yesterday she saw I was down and came up to me going "Arf! Arf! You ok Mommy puppy?" And I said yes and she got crazy eye and licked me. Good times.

I just try to think about her and how much she'd love a sibling ad how much fun we will all have and that keeps me going.

Just keep swimming......

I know it will happen. Know it. I remind myself that each cycle and find one good thing about that cycle not working. Like this cycle, I get to drink sangria at the wedding shower in a couple of weeks.

@Momarazzi007 I have been buying big sister shirts too. I have been gifting the ones she outgrows to friends having there second after a first daughter. I just bought another. I keep believing. @PrincessPetunias I also look for positives in this journey. Just yesterday I got to be a support for my baby sister...in a way that was only possible because I had already been there.

Oh- if shirts count I've had a "big brother" shirt tucked into DS's dresser for 3 years now, haha. It's a 4T and probably barely fits him now. I am determined to stuff that little boy into that shirt somehow one day!!!

Like many of you guys, I keep everything of DS's. Absolutely everything. It's all in the guestroom which will eventually be the new babies room, so I figure that's a good place for it. I haven't really bought a lot of stuff, but I do fantasize about redecorating the guest room to be a nursery all the time. I have my Pinterest board for it and everything.

I also fantasize about how we'll tell our family when the time comes. Like Easter's coming up, so I imagine how we would announce it when everyone's together. I also thought maybe I could've told them at DS's birthday party last month and Christmas before that. But the time will come eventually I'm sure.

Haha! Yes! We gave my MIL a family birthdays calendar for Christmas and I thought it would be fun to give her a blank tag inside of an egg with a little note saying to add it to November and the name will be added once we know the sex. DH said we should give her an Easter egg with a sperm tail sticking out of it to signify a fertilized egg, lol! He is crazy! He would never actually do that, but just the idea cracked me up!
