Bad comparison haha. I don't know about you guys but 1 hit and I'm high as a kite. 1 glass of wine does not make me drunk nor change my mental state at all. I have no problem with using medicinal marijuana products during pregnancy as long as they are devoid of THC. Canabonoids have many useful medical applications without the psychoactive effects of THC
Just to clarify I haven't smoked weed since I found out I was expecting DD, 2 years next month nor do I condone drug use while pg.
It's been a LONG time since I've smoked and I too get ridiculously high off one hit... even in my stoner days, after building up a tolerance, one hit was enough to change mymental state. This girl MUST be high if she think that compares to 1 glass of wine...she sounds classy.
Regardless of your change in mental state, your baby needs oxygen. Any substance you are smoking is decreasing oxygen to both you and the baby. No beuno.

That was my first thought. I already get really winded going up stairs and I can't imagine aggravating that intentionally.
Also love her claim her kids are fine. They very well might be, but that might be in spite of having her as a mother
She's essentially saying, "I've already done it often with three different babies...just wondering if you'd judge me." WTF kind of masochistic AW BS is this? The whole post is an insult to the word stupid.
I myself am not even comfortable drinking a glass of wine. I tried bc I wanted a glass so bad but it gave me severe heartburn and to me it wasn't worth it. I may try again bc it's so dang good. I would never smoke pot or anything while pregnant!!! I don't judge those who partake while not pregnant. I used to but not since I've been older. I used to enjoy it but like others have said, 1 hit and I'm done. Now, if energy pills were safe for the baby I would prolly be popping those all the time. Somedays I'm so tired I feel as though I have already taken a hit!!! Lol it's not forever! Just wait
Those poor children of hers. If she's smoking pot with all of her pregnancies, just imagine how many other dangerous things she could be doing. Mother of the year right there...
My question is how do you not know what pregnancy you're on or how many kids you have. Saying because her oldest is 12 is not an excuse, my oldest is 12 will be 13 this year. Just don't get it
When I asked her about how she's going to tell her children not to do various drugs when mom is getting high her answer was basically "do as I say not as I do" and that she sends her kids away when she gets high because she needs to relax or whatever her excuse is now.
...anddddd how on earth are you bored with 3+ children???? I am totally occupied and only have a fetus inside of me!
And if she's so busy with 3 children when does she find the time to smoke but hide it from her kids?
She may not hide it. I know several people (read: know- not friends with) whom take their children with them to go buy meth and smoke that in front of them! Yes, CPS and the local authorities are aware. Unfortunately there's nothing either can do unless it's witnessed, confessed to, or otherwise proven. Also, I have a friend whose mother started sharing meth with her kids at age 9. NINE!! SHARING METH!!! There are some really fucked up "parents" in this world.
I saw a woman at the grocery store about a month ago who was very obviously pregnant. She was talking (very rapidly) to a man sitting on the bench waiting for the bus. Her: "I know! I didn't even know I was pregnant until 2 weeks ago, I'm due any day now!" Him: "What's this make for you, 8?" Her: "9 actually. I just got all the kids back from CPS when I got out of jail. I've been clean now for two months!" Him: "that's great news. I'm so happy for you. Who's the father?" Her: "Oh, I think it's my ex but possibly my dealer. Or the guy in that other rehab place. What a joke that rehab place was." Him: "Most of those places are..."
Me: trying not to throat punch said woman and man, climbing in my car, also attempting not to puke.
There are some seriously seriously messed up people out there.
I think people are going to debate the whole wine vs. pot thing as long as there are people trying to justify their marijuana use while pregnant. Where it seems to always dead end is around the lack of evidence in either direction about how marijuana affects the unborn fetus. That said, I don't know how the whole "taking oxygen away from the baby" part always seems to get overlooked? Regardless of how much long-term research has been done, smoking ANYTHING will deprive your child of oxygen and compromise your lungs, and in turn, your baby's health.
I don't drink or smoke while pregnant but if I were to do one or the other, I damn well wouldn't choose to starve my child of OXYGEN and potentially cause them irreperable brain damage due to that oxygen loss. Just because it hasn't been proven doesn't mean that common sense doesn't say it is likely to happen...
