Hi, I'm new to the board. I've been on BR since 24 weeks, now 26+1, and will be on BR for at least the next 4 weeks, likely for the remainder of our pregnancy.
My story: I've had bleeding/spotting about every 4 days since November and started to have it daily at the end of January. Doctors have not been able to find the source of the bleeding. At 24 weeks they saw some funneling, a fingertip dilated, a +FFN, and shots for the baby's lungs. Good news was that my cervix was still long and the bleeding has been much less frequent these past few days!
I barely failed my 3 hour glucose screen, but doctor noticed I took it a few days after the steroid shots. So I'm monitoring glucose 4x/day but my numbers seem really good so I can't wait for my doctor appointment next week to get the all clear! Had another FFN yesterday which came back positive - so more of the same and keep monitoring contractions.
No new symptoms here - just keeping our LO (BOY) cooking I can't get enough cheese these days - love it!
QOTD: I have random conversations with him throughout the day. While I read to my 3 year old LO kicks up a storm. He seems to know all of our voices, and especially our dogs bark:) He like jamming to music NPR when the radio is on as well.
Hope to get to know everyone better and sending prayers and positive thoughts for all the BR mommies!
This morning LO seemed to be curled up in a ball lol... I'm not really sure what she was doing but it felt super uncomfortable and caused quite a few (bh) contractions. I tried to rub my tummy to get her to move but it didn't really work. I drank a soda (mostly just because I reallllly wanted one) and she finally moved, thankfully.
The Dr didn't move up our EDD like I was hoping. He said the earlier sonograms are more accurate at determining how far along I was. He thinks I'm just going to have a big baby (exciting news if she decides to come early - scary if she's full term)
QOTD: sometimes I feel awkward talking to the baby because it feels like I'm talking to myself, but I do try. Everyone says I should read to her but I figure I talk enough she should be quite familiar with my voice already lol. The only music I've been playing lately has been ambient/relaxation music and it's pretty mellow so I don't think she picks up on much of those sounds, although I don't really know.
No new symptoms. Dr. Appointment this morning and cervix is holding at same length so that is good. I had glucose screening this morning too so hope that goes well.
I talk to the baby some - mostly to tell him he needs to stay put for a while longer. I've sang a few times, but it always seems weird. I should lit more though.
Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA recently.. Things have been a little crazy!
I had my 36 week appointment ( still can't believe we've made it this far!) and I'm 3 cm dialated and 70% effaced! I was 1 cm and 20% 2 weeks ago.. Today I started to have some brown mucusy discharge and then some light pink spotting after going the bathroom so I called the dr and we are going in later to be checked out.
QOTD: i talk to the baby a lot but it's a lot of asking him nicely to switch positions or stop scratching Mommy's cervix I have belly buds but don't okay him music as much as I used to. I surprisingly haven't read to him because I'm not sure what to read to him.. If that makes any sense? Do I start reading him baby books or what I'm currently reading?
Also today is my birthday! AND I also just got engaged last night! It was really important to my boyfriend that our son came into this world knowing that his mommy and daddy love each other and that he is loved too. We were planning on getting engaged but I had no idea he was going to do it so soon! So happy now just waiting on the baby to make it complete!
@Ashley22089 congrats on the birthday and the engagement! So exciting! Tell us about the proposal!
I'm the same, having more insomnia, usually up for an hour with contractions/mind running before my middle of the night nifedipine dose is due- fun! I've actually been really lonely and kinda discouraged about my
contractions today. They are really frequent (every 3-5 mins moslty) but
definitely not strong enough for labor but SO annoying and they are
making me really edgy.
No appts till next week which actually makes me kinda sad because I like getting out of the house a bit.
QOTD: I always felt weird talking to DS. I don't really talk to this LO either, but I sing, read, and laugh with DS a lot when he's home so I figure that counts. DH talks to him when he wants to feel movements and it usually works.

@junkbell Welcome to the BR check-in's!! And yeah! for a long cervix:)
@twodaisies FX that you're glucose screening has good results
@Ashley22089 Happy birthday!! Also congratulations on your engagement. Annnnd you're 36 weeks, how exciting!?!
@haziedaze It sucks that you're having so many contractions:( Does nifedipine do the trick? I can't imagine what it must feel like... I get a few every hour or so but nothing that frequent. t&p that you get some relief soon.
Today is ticker change day for me, whoo!! 33 weeks and going strong. 34 weeks has been the big goal all along, so I'm psyched to be almost there. Maybe next week we'll have to change the goal to 37 weeks!
QOTD: I haven't really talked to the baby much this pregnancy. I did a lot more for DD1, and played lots of classical music/baby Mozart. I read a lot to DD1 so hopefully this baby hears that, but I jam out to whatever is on Pandora these days! Poor second child already getting shafted, haha. DH also talks to the bump every so often when he wants to feel her kicking.
ETA - I see my OB again tomorrow. Two visits with him this week since the MFM is away this week. I have to say that I look forward to appointments a little more now that they are no longer doing the transvaginal ultrasounds
@tracint The nifedipine definitely helps and I hate to think where I'd be without it but it doesn't make them go away- just space and be less intense. Thanks for the sympathy, I've been pretty miserable with them lately I think a lot of it is just being really fed up! Mama's getting grouchy!
