Help please! How much EBM to give to 3 1/2 week old??

We are spending a chunk of the day at a friend's house and I have decided to use some of my "liquid gold" expressed BM to feed DD instead of excusing myself for 45 mins (we still struggle at BFing and would need to do it in private).

So, how much EBM does a 3 1/2 week old eat do you think? 3-4 ounces?

TIA! Merry Christmas!! =)

  • My 8 week old twins eat 4 ounces typically so I think if you bring 4 you should have more than enough.

  • At that age, we were feeding 2 oz per feeding. I hope that helps.  Just a thought though, our baby girl was eating a lot less than most. I would take 3oz just to be on the safe side for each feeding.

  • Try 4oz in the bottle. If DC doesn't finish it, save it for the next feeding.
  • ds will take 3-4 oz, so we always take 4!

take a manual pump if you can- i get so full i have to pump if he gets a bottle

  • I wouldn;t be suprised if she just takes 1-2 oz. My 3 month old BF baby only takes 2-3 when we bottle her EBM. Breastfed babies typically take a lot less (more frequantly) than formula fed babies.
