Quick question, so my LO will be 9 months tomorrow. She can sit up on her own if I sit her down, but she can't transition from laying down to sitting on her own yet. Is anyone else's LO doing this?
If I put my LO on the boppy pillow or something that elevates her upper body, she can sometimes push herself up into a sitting position using her elbows. Otherwise, LO can't go from laying down from sitting up either.
My LO is not crawling nor able to pull herself up to sitting from laying down. However, she just started walking (5-6 steps) without holding onto anything. She can cruise everywhere transferring between items and independent steps in between. I think the sitting up/crawling requires a certain set of muscles (abs) where walking is different. I'm not worried...my pedi said my LO may never crawl, and she's OK with that.
Those of you who's LOs arent doing this - are they all crawling? My LO couldn't sit up on his own until he started crawling. They both happened at the same time. Not sure if that's the usual way or not, but it was the same with another baby in his daycare who is the same age. She couldn't sit on her own until she started crawling and I just noticed yesterday that she can sit up independently now too.
This is us exactly. She started getting into sitting position on her own the day after she started crawling, and it was just in the last couple of weeks. She will be 9 months on the 28th.
Gus just started doing this just over a week ago. He was 9 months on the 8th. He has been army crawling for almost a month now so I'm sure that has helped him out in learning to sit up on his own because he figured out how to get up on his knees once he was on his tummy.
My LO was 9 months on the 11th and can only sit up if I put him in that position. He just started crawling really well the past two or three days but now that he is crawling sitting seems to be the last thing on his mind he rather just chase the cat. haha, I am not worried they will all get there. I think as long as they can sit after being placed there they are on their way.
DS just figured out how to get himself from laying down to sitting up. Immediately (within mins) he was pulling himself up on his crib. He had been pulling himself up on things from a sitting position so this just completed the package.
