Not quite yet lol. My second A/S is today at 12:30 EST, I'm so excited! I'm not worried about anything, it's just my MFM's protocol for high risk patients. I keep getting kicked low, am wondering if he's breech right now. Good luck to everyone else!
All was well with my appointment. Got the paperwork for the gd test and rhogam shot. Secretary was unnecessarilly bitchy, but otherwise an uneventful appt.
I had my anatomy scan at 18 weeks but today I have my level II ultrasound to check on the umbilical cord cyst that was found at my anatomy scan. Fingers crossed that everything is good to go...... I'm a bit nervous. I am leaving work in like 10 minutes to head to the clinic.
Went for my follow-up u/s due to LO estimated to be measuring 2 weeks small (It has been a huge worry). After all the measurements, LO measured exactly 1 week small (the exact same as my A/S 5 weeks before) so we are currently thinking it may be a due-date issue and not a growth issue, which was the BEST news ever! We are so relieved. Thanks to those lovely ladies for their t&p's. I am so grateful and feel like I won the lottery. Keep the updates coming ladies, I love reading about your LO's!
Dr appt with GD test tonight at 5:45 EST. Hoping I can choke down this drink in the 5 mins they given me. I've never been good at chugging, not even in college.
Call me crazy, but I kind of liked it - it tasted like flat orange soda. You can do it!!
Wasn't going to write an update, but you all are so nice and tagged me here. Baby looks great, measured perfectly at 25w2d. He is breech, but has plenty of fluid to move around later on. Definitely not worried about that. My next check up is at 30 weeks, to make sure he keeps growing appropriately!
I had my anatomy scan today (22 weeks, this was the third appointment, first two canceled).
First, let me say, I am so glad I switched OBs (and thus hospitals). I had to go to my old hospital for the scan due to insurance reasons. Very uncomfortable, and the tech was not pleasant at all. They didn't tell me anything, only that they would call the results into my doctor. There wasn't even a "everything looks good, but follow up with your doctor" comment. Is this common?
When it came to the gender, the tech said "boy". We were previously told girl (at 18 weeks), shown the three lines, and the tech said she was "100%". When I told the tech today this, she said that although she didn't see a nub, it wasn't flat enough to be a girl. I am pretty unconvinced either way, and am ready to be team green. Did anyone else go through something similar?
I am feeling pretty unsatisfied after this appointment. I was really looking forward to hearing that everything looked good, and seeing my baby girl (or boy) again. I didn't get to see anything (although they did give me a nice picture to take home), I didn't find anything about the babys health, and was greatly uncomfortable for 2 1/2 hours (also - is it normal for it to take that long?). I can't wait to go back to my OB in a few weeks, hopefully get followup information.

Good News! the cyst is gone, cleared up on its own and baby girl is looking great and right on track for size and weight...... huge sigh of relief
I had an appointment with CNP for GD today (although we usually talk about everything while I'm there).
I'm doing well with my blood sugars. She was concerned that I've gained 10lbs in about a month (I hadn't gained any previously, so the big picture isn't so bad, just that it has come on quick). However, she's not sure if it is diet related (I haven't changed anything) or if it is because I'm swelling up like a balloon (the more likely culprit). In addition to that, my blood pressures continue to creep upward which is concerning, my bloodwork that they ran a couple weeks ago for PIH/preeclampsia looked good but she said not to be surprised if OB wants to do them again after my appointment coming up next week. I have had a few more dizzy spells where my blood pressure spiked again in the past few days, and last night I was seeing spots (although my pressure was good then so I didn't call... and I was told I need to call if that happens again). So... not a great appointment I guess. CNP said odds are pretty good that I'm not going back to work until after baby. ((sigh)). I see cardiology tomorrow so we'll see what they say too.
Just got a call from my ob. I was in last week with cramping and discharge. They did a full exam and all seemed fine but also ran some tests to be sure. Turns out I have a bacterial infection called Group B Strep. They put me on antibiotics ASAP (one pill every 8 hours) and I go in tomorrow for a follow up. Wondering if any of you ladies have had any kind of infection detected at your recent appointments? Seems like there could be a few serious complications but only if the infection goes untreated. I'm 24w 1d.
PS- hope it's okay to post with you ladies. I didn't want to create a whole new post since this is related to my last appt and figured it was more appropriate to post here than in daily symptoms.
@sarahsmile01 I just finished a round of antibiotics for my second BV infection. Doc isn't concerned since I didn't have any pre-term labor signs (which BV can cause).
GBS is pretty common. You will likely get another test for it before you deliver as you will have to do a round of IV antibiotics while you are in labor. Glad it didn't cause you any issues this time!
@SarahSmile01 - I had GBS earlier this pregnancy and was told the same thing. I took the antibiotic and they said as long as it was treated there shouldn't be any problem. I had it at the end of my pregnancy with my daughter so they just gave me antibiotics when I went into labor, which is fairly common.
I had my appt this morning. She measured me and we heard Viviana's heartbeat, but I forgot to ask either of those numbers. We combined my appt with my 2 year olds appt (scheduled them back to back but did them all together) and TBH I just focused on Lucia's stuff. Whoops. Guess I'm going to need some practice at being a parent to both my little girls!!
I'm sure she would have told me if something was wrong. We did talk about how much better this pregnancy was going now that my placenta has moved. No more cramping, no more bleeding, no more scares. I mentioned my concerns about a gallbladder problem becauee of the painful attacks I'd been having, but for now she just wants me to try Pepcid if I feel one coming on, rather than jump to any conclusions. So I'll try it.
Next I have to go in to do my GD test in about 3 weeks (they only do a 2 hour at this office!), and then come back to see my doc in about 4 weeks. I also scheduled my hospital tour last night, for mid-April :-) Things are moving right along!!
We had our second anatomy scan today, and she's still a girl. Lol. They got the measurements they couldn't get last time. My cerclage is holding tight and cervix is still measuring over 4 cm, so all is well. MFM told me she doesn't expect to see me again. I'm okay with that.
Yay, @Fuccimama, that's GREAT NEWS!!! And the two weeks ahead is good too.
I had my 24 week appt today; everything looked good! I gained 3 lbs in the last 4 weeks, which made me happy. (I had gained 8 lbs the 4 weeks before that, which worried me. But my doctor thought it was just a growth spurt, plus gaining the weight I had lost in the first trimester). So now I've gained about 18 lbs from week 9 (so maybe a total of 14 lbs from the beginning?)
Blood pressure, fundal height, and the baby's heartbeat were all good too. It was super cute; he clearly didn't like the soundwaves from the doppler. He kept kicking hard as if to say, "get that thing off me!"
Had my 25 week check in today and glucola test. Heartbeat strong in the 140s, fundal height on track. Glucola test wasn't terrible...I had orange flavor (chilled) and managed to keep it down. Results pending!
@SarahSmile01--Hope your infection clears up quickly!
@CDK211 - you are incredible! Thank you so much for all the insight. I'm seeing my Dr tomorrow morning and, thanks to you, I now know just what to ask! The cramping has stopped (thankfully) so hoping these antibiotics clear it all up. I will be having a C section, so not sure how that changes the delivery risks but I'll be sure to ask.
