  • How far along are you?  36 weeks

When you were diagnosed?  14 weeks

Are you on insulin?  2X a day

How did this past week go for you?  It was ok.  The doctor I don't like rolled his eyes at me because of one high reading, I wanted to punch him in the face.

Anything you’re struggling with and need help with?  Just trying to deal with it for a few more weeks.

If you could have any food, regardless of carb count, what would it be?  A huge breakfast of pancakes, butter, syrup, orange juice, crepes, and sugary french toast would be fantastic.

Any recipe/favorite snack/favorite meal idea to share? A mini burger on a pretzel bun and a side salad with ranch usually works pretty well.

QOTW: Are you ready for LO to come (nursery is ready, have everything you need). How about emotionally?  We have everything we need, just waiting on one more amazon shipment, but the nursery isn't even remotely put together.  Still waiting on MH to assemble the crib and the dresser, and then I can finally get baby stuff out of the living room and kitchen and put stuff away.

Emotionally I am getting really excited for her to be here, but every now and again I'm like....I wish she could come on a part time basis.  It's scary to think that once she's here, she's ours forever.  That sounds bad, I'm just a little scared of how much our lives are about to change.

  • I think it's good to be a little scared.
It shows that you are realistic and realize how important your new role will be : )) @angelsnight
  • 37 weeks

    Diagnosed at 30

    No insulin

Past week was fine with my glucose monitoring but a little rough bc I may have pre-e.

Having much more of a craving for chocolate this week- night even be the caffeine more than sugar - who knows?!

I really like to do organic aged sharp cheddar and celery or carrots and a few crackers. It makes me feel like I had a real snack instead of just the veggies.

I am sooo ready for Andrew to be here. I know that all his stuff may not be perfect but nothing ever is. I can't wait to meet him and for his sister to meet him. I'm just DONE being pregnant! That being said I wouldn't mind him cooking at Least 2 more weeks ; ))

    No insulin for me!

Somehow my numbers have been spectacular this week!

I'm tired of eating the same thing day after day and hope this GD is over soon.

I'm going to jump on @angelsnight breakfast bandwagon.  A HUGE breakfast sounds amazing!  Chocolate chip pancakes, french toast, fruit, bacon, sausage and side of cheesecake.

A couple of weeks ago I posted a recipe for low carb pancakes.  While they don't taste like regular pancakes they're pretty dang good.  I've started referring to them as magic pancakes because I had them with strawberries and a little bit of powdered sugar last weekend and my 1 hour after breakfast number was around 92!

QOTW:  The nursery is totally ready, but emotionally I'm a mess!  I'm freaking TERRIFIED of having a tiny human to deal with day in and day out and I kind of think I'll never sleep again.

  • @Akpuffin, my brother is getting married a couple weeks after LO will arrive, and they are having a brunch reception.  I'm happy for him and all, but I am soooo excited about the food and that I actually get to eat it!  My future SIL keeps talking about the fact that I can drink (I don't know, I'm nervous about drinking even a little while BF, but I might have one mimosa) but I plan on tearing up that buffet!

  • @angelsnight - they are the almond pancakes.  Delicious!

How far along are you? 34.5

When you were diagnosed?  28 weeks

Are you on insulin?  I'm on glyburide at night and now metformin at dinner time.

How did this past week go for you?  Well the little guy is estimated to be 9.5 pounds and with the GD, my OB is recommending a scheduled c-section.  Going from a med free delivery at a birth center to now a scheduled c-section has been quite a jump.  I'm a FTM so I'm a little sad I'll be missing out on the experience of labor.  And with the PCOS and my refusal to do any other fertility medications, I may never experience it.  My numbers are pretty good with the exception of my fasting numbers.  My dinner numbers are also getting higher, especially considering that they are only within normal limits if I eat 30 grams of carbs or less and my nurse says I need 45-60 to keep my ketone levels normal.  So I'm also starting metformin today.
Anything you’re struggling with and need help with?  This process is wearing me down - I'm sick of 3x a week appointments, all of the tracking and testing, feeling fleeting moments of success and then seeing the numbers creep up again, etc.  I'm really looking forward to the day I can eat when/what I want without having to test my blood sugar 5x a day, testing ketones 2x a day, getting rid of all these doctor appointments and tracking everything that I eat.

If you could have any food, regardless of carb count, what would it be? Girl Scout Cookies - Tagalongs especially.

Any recipe/favorite snack/favorite meal idea to share? (this can also be something you found has worked for you from a restaurant.  Not condoning fast food, but we’ve all been in a pinch where we need to eat something NOW)  I shared a doughnut recipe last week and it was a disaster so if you look through the old posts don't try it!  It was a soupy mess.  2 tacos from Taco Time have been perfect though and I'll probably get a taco salad for lunch from a local place.

QOTW:  Are you ready for LO to come (nursery is ready, have everything you need).  How about emotionally?  I have all of the stuff I need, but the nursery is a construction site.  Everything is in there and there is no order.  Emotionally - I'm done with the diabetes, the pelvic pain, inability to sleep, fatigue, etc.  I want him to stay in and be as healthy as he can be but I just wish I didn't have to deal with all these appointments.

  • How far along are you? 34w 5d

When you were diagnosed? 31 weeks

    Are you on insulin? No

How did this past week go for you? In general my daytime numbers are fantastic. I'm struggling with my fasting number though

Anything you’re struggling with and need help with? Morning numbers. I'm currently trying to eat dinner and my snack earlier to see if that makes a difference. Other than that I have no idea

If you could have any food, regardless of carb count, what would it be? Shamrock Shake.

Any recipe/favorite snack/favorite meal idea to share? (this can also be something you found has worked for you from a restaurant. Not condoning fast food, but we’ve all been in a pinch where we need to eat something NOW). I had grilled salmon with broccoli at Cheesecake Factory and had great numbers. Even with the piece of bread I ate as well!

QOTW: Are you ready for LO to come (nursery is ready, have everything you need). How about emotionally? Nursery is ready, I have my family shower this weekend. However he needs to stay in until I get all my projects at work done. Emotionally I'm not sure if I'm ready for him to come though.
