I love WTF Wednesday, but I also like to here about good things and things people are really excited about. Also, I can't remember the WTFs I mentally filed away earlier this week.
Thank you taxi driver for showing me a secret awesome trick to get out of my neighborhood while avoiding the crazy red light line.
Thank you Jet Blue at DCA for starting this trip off right. Are you trying to become my favorite airline? The check in attendant walked me over to the security line so that he could put me in the expedited line if the regular one was too long. Then the desk attendant upgraded me to 1st row seating so I could be more comfortable. You guys rock!
Found out I can bring LO's to work with me up through the first year after they are born! So happy. And I am currently noshing on a delicious pink lady apple...the best of all apples! YUM
I found out this morning that I passed my one hour GTT! Yay! No 3 hour! No more being poked at with a needle! I was <130 (normal). Also I'm really excited to be switching over to a midwife and birthing center. I really liked my OB but I wasn't a big fan of the hospital.
Found out I can bring LO's to work with me up through the first year after they are born! So happy. And I am currently noshing on a delicious pink lady apple...the best of all apples! YUM
I'm gonna pull a Kanye haha:
Pink ladies are delicious and a close second, but Honeycrisp apples are the best apples ever! (And I'm not just sayin that because they're from here in MI)

As a followup to my WTF Wednesday post- DH is awesomesauce for sitting with me this morning and talking out how I got so overwhelmed yesterday and what can be done to avoid meltdowns in the future. Basically all my emotional coping strategies (painting, shopping, putting physical space between me and whats bothering me) conflict with mandatory bed rest.
So he spent an hour locating a watercolor set since I'm not allowed to sit and paint in my studio and set it up so I can paint from the couch even if its not in my favorite medium. I've already done two sheets and feel so much more like myself than I have since I had to put down my brushes and get in bed.
And then he took me out to Subway to get me the sandwich I wanted.
Like I said in the WTF post- he's not usually that stupid most of he time he's pretty damn perfect.
Friends for 17 years. Married 10. TTC since Jan 2009.
2012: Lost "Peanut" at 17weeks to PTL/IC.
2013: IVF#3/FET#4 Elisabeth CJ born April 30, 2014 Cerclage, P17, and 3 months of bed rest brought us our Rainbow.
I've really been wanting the Hollywood issue of Vanity Fair but wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money on it right now, especially because I tend to hoard magazines anyway so it won't get read for months and months.
I popped into Costco on the way home from work today and was really excited to see it there, for cheap(er). They don't normally carry it so I took it as a sign. It is now mine
Also, a new bag of Kettle chips. That will be making my night.
Oh, one more - it's above 0 today (Celcius) and will be even higher tomorrow, which means I can FINALLY get my car washed. Yay!
You are right! Honeycrisp are my second favorite, though! Love them! Not surprised that I don't see eye to with Kanye. We have had our differences on other subjects, as well
We filed our taxes and will have enough of a refund to pay for summer!
(We are teachers and only get paid 10 months. July and August are ROUGH. That whole "Teachers have the summer off" is a huge lie- we may not work but we also don't get paid!)
I'm super stoked for the new necklace I ordered from Bauble Bar. It should be waiting at my door when I get home. Pretty things make me feel better about myself.
I'm pretty stoked on that TOMS discount over at Zulily today. I got two new pairs! This is exciting for me because I plan to wear only slip on shoes as soon as the weather hits 60 degrees. Mama is getting real tired of taking 20 mins to struggle pulling on boots and tying real shoes!
It rained this morning and cleaned the salt off my car. I'll take 45 and raining over any form of snow, any day!
My band has a show this weekend, and my DH was able to switch shifts with someone at work so that he can come with me (he had been scheduled to close).
I'm awaiting the results of my 3 hour GTT, so in the meantime I'm savoring all the sweets while I can. If I have to give them up, then at least I'll be able to remember the good times.
Edited: Because hardly a post goes by where I don't catch my dumb mistakes until I hit post.
As a follow up to my WTF Wednesday post... The third trimester bath photo has been deleted which is nice, and hubby told me it gave him a "chubby" which made my self esteem go up. Silver linings!
DD (almost 2 yrs old) usually only naps a half hour a day. Today she's been napping for 2, yes TWO, hours so far. It's glorious and I'm thanking God! I love that girl, but I'm getting more and more exhausted every day and this Mama needs a little downtime.
Finally got the crib's mattress (I've been a slacker) and it should be here by tomorrow or Friday. So excited that everything is coming together! Now if only my cat would unhide all the screws that went with the changing table/dresser combo...that'd be great.
I have to agree with @BeesKnees181 that Pink Lady apples are the best. Sweet and tangy at the same time.
DH and I finally got the nursery all put together last weekend. Besides hanging some art on the walls, it's all set for the little ones to get here. Oh, and our car seats arrive today! So if they do decide to come early, we'll actually be able to take them home from the hospital when they're ready. Feeling way less stressed with those two things out of the way.
Also want to add on that I'm excited that MIL has the baby crib she used for DH and is giving it to us. So now I can go to this big baby consignment event this weekend and perhaps find a dresser and changing table or other things for the nursery!
DH and I (okay really just me) have been looking for new dishes forever. We have old ugly hand-me-downs from his mom.
Today I spent the day with one of my best girlfriends whose aunt works at Pier 1 and I fell in love with a set of dishes! I bought 8 place settings and her aunt gave me such a huge discount that I only paid $78 for everything. I'm so psyched
Next doors plow truck cleared our entire drive while we were at work today. He usually gets the front since we share a drop curb with the apartments next door but today he went all the way up the garage. Apparently he likes cookies, I plan on baking him a ton now.
On the one hand, I came home sick from work today with the cold that will not die. On the other hand, I napped all afternoon with a very sweet cat snuggling me and actually feel a bit better.
I've been working nights this week, which I never do, and it's been extremely hard, but today I got some good sleep and feel much, much better! Plus I got to be home for a while during the day to enjoy the weather and take DD out to play. She decided to eat a big hunk of snow, share it with her dolls, and call it fudge. She is so silly.

I have to agree with @Mamazon2014! I love Pink ladies, but Honeycrisp are second to none! They are absolute perfection! Only sad thing is you can only find them at certain times, they cost a little more, and not everywhere sells them (although I've seen them a lot more lately!). But seriously if you like the flavor of pink ladies try a honey crisp!! You'll fall in love!
Damnit... now I want one too!
**Lighting a candle in memory of our angel babies and angel mama in heaven from May'14**
I passed the 1-hour GD screening! It's my birthday this weekend, so I was going to be sad if I couldn't eat birthday cake.
Last night I got a refund check for all the copays I had paid at the MFM office, apparently my insurance didn't require a copay for those appointments. New shoes time!
It's my birthday too! I wonder if we share the same birthday? 2/23?
Also team honeycrisp. Even if they are the most expensive apples I've ever bought. They're totally worth it.
Don't have much awesomeness, been pretty productive, cleaned all day. Guess that's cool:)
And Honeycrisp apples are definitely from MN not MI, being from MN those apples are the highlight of the summer/fall my son and husband love them
My DH works at Whole Foods so the ones we get are locally grown from several of the orchards nearby.
If you like Honeycrisp and you like apple cider in the fall, you HAVE to try Honeycrisp apple cider! We buy a gallon of it every year from the cider mill and it is like the nectar of the gods!!

I agree with the honeycrisp. But I am also in Michigan lol
Found a super cute dress for a wedding that is next week. Just need some cute jewelry, pretty shoes, and a shrug. All thanks to a very helpful sales woman at the store.

AND after nearly two months straight of snow, subzero temps and gloom, we are at 46 degrees with sunshine!!!
AND my husband's work party is tonight and there shall be free food and dessert! Two words: s'more pie!!!
