  • I chose closer to two hours but that's definitely not the case every day and some days could be more. My DD watches approx. 30 minutes or a bit less in the mornings while I'm getting things ready. When we get home she likes to have a snack and watch some more and then sometimes she watches one 20 minute show before bedtime.

  • At home, sometimes none, sometimes up to 30 min (in ~10 min increments).

At daycare, I think they watch 30 min to 1 hr each day, maybe more. It's more than I like, but I understand why they do it (it's an in-home daycare with about half a dozen kids, and they park them in front of the TV during the busy times like drop off/pick up).

  • We are probably at around 3 hours a day (including the half hour when I get ready and the half hour or so to prepare dinner).

  • If ds wakes up while I'm getting ready for work, he will watch 20 minutes or so in the morning. The weather has been so cold and snowy that he's been watching more than usual. He usually just watches 20 minutes or so of Sprout before bed, usually while dh and I are getting things ready for the next day.

  • I voted none.  He is in a NAEYC accredited daycare and there are no TVs anywhere.  During the evenings and on weekends, we rarely get bored enough to need TV.  He usually gets one 10 minute episode of Thomas every weekend.  Its more a result of our situation than conviction. And I'm not a big TV watcher myself, so we really don't put any effort into not watching it.

  • Probably too much.

It's on all day.  Obviously none while in school.  But she likes to watch for 30 minutes when she gets home before homework. Then off and on until bed.  Weekends she sits and watches more. But I make her get off when I feel it's been awhile to play or go outside.

  • Since LO is so little we don't have any favorite shows, etc. The baby channel does provide an excellent distraction during nail clipping though!

  • Pretty sure it's 3-4. At least in the winter.

  • I voted ss. During the week it is usually none unless he needs a distraction while I make dinner (usually he can play during this time.) On the weekend he watches a few shows over the course of the day and we usually watch a movie on Friday or Saturday night.

  • We do TV time as part of her quiet time.  It's the only way she'll sit still and rest a bit.  Usually, it's about 45 minutes (one Sesame Street episode at the moment), in the afternoon, and I either use it as my own mental break, or sit with her while she watches it.  She also gets ~20 minutes in the morning when I brush her hair (it takes ~10 minutes for the hair, then I get myself ready), and ~20min in the evening while she brushes her teeth.  I'd rather not do screen time before bed, but it doesn't seem to impact her sleep either way and it is the best way I have found to avoid any trouble with tooth brushing.

  • an hour combined on the weekdays while I get ready and while I get dinner together after work. Same usually on the weekends, unless she watches a movie or something :)

  • DD is still young, 13.5 months so she watches zero tv.
