They should be banned or have to use a separate bathroom entirely. Equally as disturbing are the cell phone talkers. The whole bathroom can hear your conversation and the person on the other end can hear all the peeing, pooping and flushing. Yuck.

oh I HATE when I walk into a public restroom and hear someone on their cell phone! I feel so sorry for the person they are talking to.

this is the worst thing ever. My all time HATE is cell phone talkers. makes me wish i had really loud gas! lol TMI i know, but they are disgusting!

I"ll be the UO, I'll finish my sentence/thoughts if someone is walking in the stall...then wait for them to respond. If they want a quie t"release" so be it, but if someone wants to talk straight through (pee) I'll go with it. Poop on the other hand...I don't do that publicly unless it's a big emergency and then I'm purposely not in there with ANYONE...nor do I want to chat through someone else's BM. that's their time.

my son on the other hand has full blown parties in the potty/shower/bathroom in general, which is pretty amusing. that's what I thought this was about when I opened it!

I'm always kinda tempted to make lots of grunting noises and some loud "courtesy flushes" even if I'm just peeing. Chances are the potty talker thinks the other end of the line doesn't realize they are in the bathroom. Duh people. The echo always gives you away! As soon as I hear the echo or anything remotely bathroomish, I suggest that they call me back when they aren't in the John.

I hate that! I'm too private for that crap. One time a coworker just stood outside the door talking at me the whole time... I had half a mind to ask her if she wanted to cuddle after.

I hate cell phone talkers more than anything...especially if I'm in there first and they come in blabbing away! I'm always tempted to answer them. But that would require talking while peeing and that's just not my style

I agree and I prefer private bathrooms regardless of #1 or 2 - just leave me alone! But I seriously HATE when there are lots of stalls and most empty and someone chooses the one next to you to do their business. Really? 7 stalls, 1 occupied and you are as close to me as you can be?

I have a shy bladder. I can only pee in front of my sister and husband. I can poop in front of anyone though. But I prefer to do my business in private. I'll chat later.

I have no boundaries with bathrooms

but I try to respect other people's. I think it comes from growing up in a commune with 10+ people and one bathroom.

That is the worst. A few times when I was leaving the bathroom, I've had coworkers come in and start talking to me as they go in the stall. I'm just standing there listening to them talk and pee. No. Every morning last school year I would find the private locked multi stall bathroom to take my morning poop (I miss those) and there would be the same lady talking on her phone every day. One morning someone was in there eating a breakfast sandwich. Wtf?

This makes me really appreciate the fact that there is one private single toilet and sink teachers bathroom on each floor of the school I work in. Bathrooms are not for talking!

Ugh! Just today a coworker and I ended up in the bathroom at the same time. She started going off on how much she hated the new bathrooms (my store is under remodel) and I just gave a non-committal "mmhmm" because HELLO! Pregnant, constipated woman trying to do her business here!
