Ok so I know we do a lot of complaining. Hell, we have a lot to complain about (not that we would trade it for anything).
But every once in a while someone comes along and does something AWESOME for you, or you and LO.
A mom, friend, neighbor, other relative...
Let's hear some of the nice things that have been done for you or made thing better...
Because happy.
I'll start...my parents came in to visit from NY yesterday. They're staying till Sunday. They kept LO in their room all night and did his feedings (EPer). I just woke up from EIGHT SOLID HOURS of sleep.
My boobs are killing me but I don't even care.
What ya got?
Oh, and no SO/DHs....they have their own thread!
Re: Third Party Appreciation!
Then my brother and SIL brought over dinner and just hung out. Their 10 month old and DD1 got to play and we enjoyed some company and good food!

This one is pretty much an AW, but my 13 yo daughter is beyond awesome. School was cancelled yesterday, and the kid spent the entire day cleaning floors. She swept and steamed the entire house along with furniture. My 11 yo didn't have that motivation, but she made me a homemade sugar scrub because my skin is so dry (plus she said I can eat it too if I would rather do that).
So yesterday morning, there wasn't a flake in the sky and I felt safe driving into work - snow wasn't supposed to start until after noon/1pm, and I knew that I'd be able to leave around the beginning of the storm without repercussions. Well...the snow started 30-40min after I got to work, so I wasn't able to leave at that point. When I did finally leave, it took me 20 minutes to waddle thru the snow to our parking garage (normally a 7min walk), up the stairs and over to my car. There was so much snow! I couldn't really reach the snow on top of my car/the back of my car (I'd backed into the parking spot so I was backed up to a wall), so I cleared the hood of my car and the windows so that I could see and pulled out of my parking spot.
I still felt I needed to clear the car a little more, so I parked again in an open area of the garage and got out to start brushing again. There was a man sitting in a pickup truck nearby and he got out to help me!! :-) He had gotten there early to pick up his wife from work, and was just waiting. He brushed off my entire roof (10+ inches of snow had fallen since I got to work in the morning) and made certain that my headlights/taillights were visible for the drive home. It was so nice! As it was I think I had stretched the belly a bit too far for some of the other snow clearing, I don't know how I would have gotten the snow off the top of my car without the kindness of this stranger!

My parents made us several big meals while we were doing the nicu thing- stuff that reheats well like chili and pasta dishes, things that will last us most of a week so we don't have to worry about anything. My mom has also come over more than once and washed my dishes and laundry while I snuggle with DS.
My aunt and grandmother came over today and brought me lunch- also cleaned my kitchen, watched DS sleep while I showered, and got us gift cards for Chinese food and pizza for when we need dinner made for us.
And a friend of mine from my TK days sent me a Starbucks gift card. She can't physically be with us(because Canada) but knows that what a new parent needs is caffeine, and lots of it!
