Someone.......anyone........ commiserate with me.

My kid doesn't sleep well. Ever. Now he's teething and has the runs. Stage 55 clinger. I got 3 hours and 52 minutes of sleep last night. Yeah, I counted.

Bonus question: if you could only wear one kind of underwear the rest of your life what would it be?

I'm up, but i'm at work. And no coffee, ugh. I am trying to go caffeine free and dairy free for two weeks to see if it will help DS sleep better at night. It has gotten so bad, he literally wants to comfort nurse all night long. Last night I figured it was almost time to get up because of how much he was up, nope it was only 130 am. I'm seriously blind without my glasses so I can't see the clock unless i put my glasses on, usually it works to my advantage because I don't watch the clock but it doesn't even matter anymore.
At least DH watched the kids so I could take a 2 hour nap before work, but it's a rough one tonight.

ETA: sorry the picture is SO big!!
Bonus question: American Eagle boy briefs, they are so comfy and I think they're still kind of cute.

A friend told me this worked for her but this sounds like a vicious cycle for me. No sleep, need coffee, coffee keeps baby up, no sleep for me, need coffee. Etc, etc. I doubt he'd sleep anyway. I just rocked him to sleep and he's already fussing. DH is playing clash of clans. I swear on all that is holy if he survives the night it will be a miracle!!! :-L

  • It is a vicious cycle, I really want some coffee right now, but only 2 more hours and I can go home and sleep. While I was still on maternity DS was doing 8 hour stretches and I wasn't drinking that much coffee. Only one cup in the morning. And now that I'm back to work I have been drinking more caffeine because I have to be up for 24 hours at a time, with little sleep from the night before.

I can't complain about DH right now, he cleaned the house while the kids and I were at a hotel/water park for two days with my mom, sister, and two nieces. He gets some loving today, that is after I sleep for awhile, lol.

  • @dani7181 - it didn't work for me (the no coffee thing) thank god. I was just a zombie for a week and Giles still slept like poop.

:(( noooo, something needs to work.

  • I know it will get better someday. The real reason I want him to sleep better is because I want one more baby and DH is definitely not on board with that especially with DSs sleep habits.

  • Brynne was up coughing and wheezing almost all night. We gave her a nebulizer treatment and that earned us an 80 minute stretch of sleep which is the longest stretch I've gotten in days because of this icky cough of hers.

    Back to the doctor today.

Poor Brynne. George has a wicked cold now and it's so sad. :(( Can't imagine with Brynne being sick so often. Hope she gets better soon and stays better!

You started the roll call 20 minutes too late for me to participate while I was awake in MOTN *whines*

Ever since she got congested, LO has taken to waking up between 4-4:30 for a bottle. Add some "not-really-awake-but-complaining-that-binky-has-fallen-out" noises in between (meaning one of us gets up and puts the binky back in but she keeps on sleeping. sigh) and even if LO only "really" wakes up once, I'm up about 5 times.

Well last night, I hear her gearing up for her "bottle" cry and take her out, go to the kitchen, prepare a bottle....she just keeps on sleeping on my shoulder? Ok? So I put her back in her crib, expecting her to wake up any second. Nope.

So I go back to bed, ear cocked, waiting for half an hour for her stomach to decide it got cheated out of a meal. Nothing. I'm wide awake, though. Argh!

And I love my H&M maternity underwear (still....) They're so comfy!

  • Had I had my phone with me last night, I would've participated. I considered making a bed on the nursery floor since that's where I spent most of my night. Oh, and I'd only wear VS hipster panties. Super comfy.
