Stitch fix follow-up

Did anyone else try it?  I got my first fix yesterday.  I really like all the stuff: jeans, 2 blouses, a casual top, and a bag.  I am shocked that the jeans fit me really well.  I usually have an awful time finding jeans I like.  I like both blouses, but I am not sure I have anything that goes with one of them.  The bag is cute.  I don't necessarily need it, but right now I only own a purse and my work bag, so it would be nice to have an alternative bag.  I have another day to decide what I am keeping.  I am leaning toward keeping the jeans, one blouse, and the bag.

  • I had never heard of this so I checked out their website and I like the concept! I think I'm going to try it out.
  • I got my first one last week.  It was 4 blouses and a scarf.  I liked 3 of the blouses, but 2 were too big, so I only kept one of them.  I did revise my shirt size on the site and give feedback, so I'm looking forward to my second one next month!

  • My last one was awesome!  I think some of the stylists must be better than others, and definitely leave them detailed feedback so that they have more to work from next time.

I just wonder if they always send jeans.  I've gotten three boxes from them - and three pairs of denim!  I'm hoping they read my notes and skip it for next time.  I can only wear so many jeans when I'm in business clothes all week for work :)

  • I'm a fan of stitch fix.  I did about 5 boxes before getting KU (kept one thing from each box).  Wish they did maternity!  DH doesn't like the fee as it pretty much locks you into keeping one thing, but I've been happy with at least one thing from every box, so that hasn't been a problem.
  • I'm interested in this because my wardrobe is horrible and I end up wearing the same boring stuff over and over again.  I know the website says that you can set the price range, but how low can you really go?  I'm a cheap shopper - Target, Kohl's, Old Navy, etc.  I'm just worried that everything will be $50+ which is more than I typically spend on my every day wardrobe.

Most of my current wardrobe is from Target, too.  I can't remember the price range options, but I do remember that one choice was "the cheaper, the better."  I'm using it in the hopes of adding a few special pieces and broadening my fashion repertoire, without spending time shopping.  I would rather have 1 flattering/interesting top than 5 boring t-shirts.

Yeah, after this pair, I really don't need any jeans for a while.  I was hoping maybe the same stylist would do my next one?  She seemed to hit the nail on the head.

Weird that you got 4 blouses.  Did you ask for that specifically?  I was really pleased that my box had some variety.

No, I didn't ask for it and I would have liked more variety.  I did put in comments that I don't like skinny jeans, so maybe they took that to avoid all pants entirely?  We'll see what the next one is like, I suppose.

  • I just checked my profie and instead of saying, I'm 5'4", it said I was 4'4".  Oops! I bet they didn't send me pants because they thought I was so short!  I fixed it so maybe next month will be different.

I think I read on their blog that you can request a particular stylist.  I don't know whether you note it in your profile, or in your feedback from a Fix.  It's worth a shot :)

  • OK, so I went a little crazy and decided to get everything.  I tried it all on & everything fit really well.  The bag is great.  I used it today and got compliments on it.  DD even noticed it and said, "New purse, Mommy!"

  • Whoa -- I finally signed up and the first available delivery date was at the end of March!  Apparently they are growing rapidly and having trouble keeping up with demand.

Fingers crossed that quality stays high as they scale up...

  • I really like this concept.  After this one is born I might give it a go.

ETA: Do you get any benefit from referring people?

Yes, but it seems to be only if you post on FB or Twitter?  Not exactly sure.  I really hate posting anything advertisement-like, so I haven't done it yet.

Yes, Stitch Fix sends you a link in an email that is your personal referral link.  I'm sure it can be copied and pasted into a PM, but I'm not the one that started the thread, so I'll leave it to others to send a referral link, if anyone wants.

  • I keep being intrigued by this but at 5 ft tall I am skeptical it would really work for me...but it is cool to see good reviews!
  • I am dying to sign up but I'm carrying an extra 5-10 lbs of "breastfeeding weight." When I stopped BF last time I was able to lose it so I don't want to buy too much in this bigger size. But you guys are making me jealous!
