My child just scared the shitz out of me!

I was just feeding her rice and chicken Gerber meal and at the end she started coughing and turning red. My husband panicking and yelling didn't help. Thankfully I remembered to turn her on her stomach and tap her back. Nothing came out, but after a few seconds she stopped coughing and started babbling, and took some water and it stayed down, THANK GOD.

    @jessannj if I had to CPR I'd be screwed because I only know how to do it on an adult.  Which reminds me I want I want to find out when they are having the CPR retraining at work.

    American Red Cross usually offers both adult & infant/child CPR h heimlich (cant spell) maneuver. Around here, some of the hospitals that offering parenting support groups also have the cpr/first aid classes. Some of the family birth centers also might offer it. We went to a class at our local hospital when LO was about 1month old with the person who'd be watching her while we were at work. Also there are private companies that offer it - if you can get a group together, can split the cost.

    I attended a pediatric first aid course a few months ago for work.  After the age of one, stomach thrusts can (generally- assuming average size) be done on the child that same way they can be done on an adult, just FYI.  But you should do at least 3 good, hard back whacks (official term, obvs :P ) before getting into all of that.
