Question about GC, wwtprd?

We are having our FET this week. Assuming that the embies thaw and transfer, we won't see our GC again until a viability U/S if we get that far. We have always tested before beta when it was my body (positives on either 6dp5dt or 7dp5dt), should we request that she do the same?
Leave it up to her?
We ordered pnv through amazon and had them sent to their house (we live an hour apart), so if we want her to test should I just give her a couple of boxes of frer after transfer?

So much unknown territory here...

Re: Question about GC, wwtprd?

  • I don't think it's unreasonable to ask her to test. I know our GC already bought a test to use because I am pretty sure she is almost as excited for us to have a baby as we are. We haven't even had our retrieval yet and she's already talking about not being able to wait until the scheduled blood draw.

    TTC since April 2010
    BFP #1 – March 2011, missed m/c April 2011
    BFP #2 – October 2011, m/c November 2011
Surprise BFP #3 – December 2011, diagnosed as cornual, terminated January 2012
    BFP #4 – June 2012, m/c July 2012
Diagnosed with bicornuate ute and MTHR gene mutation
    BFP #5 – October 2012, missed m/c November 2012
    BFP #6 – January 2013, m/c March 2013
No longer TTC. Diagnosis: Hostile ute. Heartbroken and bitter. Pursuing surrogacy.
June 2013 - Carrier found! Could this really happen?!

  • thanks for your thoughts ladies
@sammer818 - that's hilarious! fwiw, we have never had more than 13 at ER and we have always had 5dt and sometimes frosties. i just keep trying to view this cycle as fundamentally different, we both changed a major part of the equation to give ourselves a better chance.
(((hugs))), i know how hard this is.

  • It's really up to you but if you want her to test I'm sure she'd be more than happy to.  My FIP's didn't care if I tested but they didn't want to know anything until the BETA.  I couldn't wait so I started testing at 4dp5dt every 12ish hours.  I finally got a BFP at 5.5dp5dt.  It was torture not to tell them for another 4.5 days.  The nurse called me first with the results and I asked if I could please tell my IM, I still remember calling her, pretending like it was nothing, like I'd not gotten the results, then spilling the beans.  Sorry for rambling, it was such a wonderful time for all of us.  Again, if you want her to test, just ask her to, just don't get discouraged if she tests early and doesn't get a BFP right away.

    GSx1 - 05/13/2013
    GSx2 for T&B - EDD 6/21/2015 - They're having a GIRL!

  • This last transfer Me & my IPs talked about it & they waited me to test & so did I but if they didn't I would not have tested as I have a big mouth lol
With my IPs with their 1st son who I carried for them we didn't really talk about it & I ended up testing & telling them which they where ok with
But we just transferred again for baby #2 and where getting BFP but the beta was not good & ended in MC
That was really hard for us IDK if I will test again when we transfer again.
I think its a great ideas to buy the test & just give them to her on transfer day.
    Best Of Luck to you!!!
