Twins scheduling

First off I'm sorry if this sounds scattered. Working on minimal sleep over here. I have 3 1/2 month old twin boys(37 weeks) There for a while we were doing great with eating and sleeping at the same time but in the last two weeks things have been off. I have one (M) that is a great napper but isn't great at night and the other (S) sleeps well at night but most naps I have to sooth him back to sleep every 15-20 min. M has also started eating more at night than he does during the day. Last night he had 2-3oz every 1.5-2hours. But this morning refused a bottle(3 hours after his last) and all he wants to do is sleep. Btw I EP for them so they only get BM. How to I get M to eat more during the day so we can get on track to sleep all night? I think if I let S sleep instead of waking him to eat(every 4 hours) he'd sleep through the night but I'm afraid of feeding M then having to feed S 45 min later. Also for nap time should I separate them so I can start to let them self sooth? S doesn't always wake up his brother but often he does so I don't let him cry long before I go in and replace the paci. Right now I try for 3-3.5oz every 3 hours. Pedi said by 4 months they should do 4oz every 4 hours. I don't feel we are even close to that goal. Am I alone with thinking the newborn stage was much easier than it is right now?

  • I have found with my 3 kids (2 are twins), that it is much easier to go with the flow and follow their lead until they are around 6 months old.  Feed them when they are hungry and put them to sleep when they are tired.  Once they are 6 months old, eating a good amount of solid food, etc. things tend to work themselves out and the babies are much more malleable.  Both of my twins started sleeping through the night (about 12 hours) at 6 months on their own without any training.  My older daughter I did sleep training with around 7 months.  For me, personally, trying to get them on a schedule didn't work until 6+ months and it drove me crazy!
