zantac question - 2 versus 3x a day

For those of you who have LOs with reflux who are treated with zantac, did any of you notice improvement bumping dosing up from 2-3x a day? the pediatrician said we could try it but I'm not sure.  2x a day doesnt seem to be cutting it for my 6-week-old with silent reflux.
