Where is the best place to get a convertible car seat under $50 other than Craig's List? We finally got a second car - we need a car seat for it. It won't be used as much as our main car seat but we want to make sure we are getting something safe but at the same time - don't want to spend an arm & a leg like we did on the other one.

Walmart-Grandpa got an Evenflo convertible car seat for their car for my son. And now I really like Evenflo car seats. I got this Evenflo Convertible Car Seat for my daughter:

Cosco Scenera or Apt is going to be the most inexpensive.

DO NOT buy a used seat unless you know the full history (Never been in an accident, straps never washed, and never checked on an airplane).

Yeah, this is the reason why I dislike it. Also, the shell is pretty short. So for my crowd they would never reach 2 in it RF and we try to RF till 3-4 in this house.

Never ever, ever buy a used car seat! A car seat is your child's life saving device. Do you trust that some random stranger has taken perfect care of that seat? Do you trust that it was cleaned and stored properly? Do you trust that it was never in an accident? Would you trust a random stranger with your child's life?

I'm not trying to be dramatic. I'm very serious when I say all of that.

We have the Safety First Guide 65 and love it. It's over $50, but if you shop sales and have a coupon you could find it cheaper (I paid $70). Also it will keep your LO rear facing to 40lb/40".

No, it can make the straps less effective. I hope everyone joins the FB group "Car Seats for The LIttles." It's an amazing group where you can get experts' advice on which carseats work best for your child and car! I have learned SO much from this group (and continue to learn!).

You can spot clean them with a wipe or damp rag. You cannot submerge in water as it deteriorates the straps and can cause strap failure.
