LO seems to be a morning person....

We had some major sleep regressions and I caved and sleep trained in December  LO has been sleeping much better, but just cut 2 teeth and has 2 more than look like they will cut any day.  Needless to say we have had some sleep disruptions, but nothing horrible.  My concern is he wakes up between 5 and 5:15 EVERY DAY!  It doesn't matter if I put him to be on time or later.  I try not to get him till 6, but I hate having him start his day upset.  We have put some toys in the crib and he shows no interest.  ANy ideas?  TIA

  • I just nurse DS in bed in hopes that he falls back asleep. Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesn't. But at least I can still lie down and be warm if he doesn't. And it usually buys me til at least 6 before he's demanding to get up instead of cuddle.

  • Same here. Francesca wakes up between 5-6. Sometimes 4:45. I used to let her cry in hopes she would go back down. But now I feed her and we usually fall asleep on the couch until 7/7:30. Some mornings she's just ready to play!

  • I also nurse DS back to sleep if he wakes up early. Do you have room darkening curtains or shades? That might help. Hope you don't just have an early riser!
  • My supply tanked when I found out I was pg with no 2.  I'm due in Sept.  And I work full time and am in the shower by 6:15.  :(  DH has horrible hours and sometimes isnt even home by the time we leave in the am.

  • DS gets up around 7:30 and I am typically trying to finish up for the day.  He has gotten pretty good at keeping himself content.  There are two items that really seem to keep him entertained.  The first is a picture of an elephant over his crib.  The second is a snow globe that is battery operated.

Now there are times he gets up at 5am.  I have tried to let him just stay in there in hopes that he will fall back asleep, but that never happens.  If I let him cry for too long then he will not go back to sleep.  If instead, I go in right after he cries and nurse him, then he will go back to sleep until 7.

I hope it gets better for you.  Otherwise you might be forced to become a very early morning person yourself.
