It's a caffeine kind of day

So this weekend has been a blur. Friday DH and I bought our bedroom set. It's nice. I like it. Whatever. Saturday I had a great day visiting with Mimi but the rest of the day was just non-stop. Grocery shopping and errands and stuff. Sunday was church and cleaning. I convinced my 13 year old niece to come over and watch my kids while I clean and organize my bedroom so we can get the new furniture in. I spent all day yesterday doing laundry and moving things around. Then Isaac became super stopped up. Like crying from straining and had a little blood. He got some of it out and I thought ok we're probably ok for the night. Nope. He woke up at 3:30 in pain. So of course that meant I was up at 3:30. I finally got to go back to sleep at about 5 and 6 is normal wake up time. So I'm sore from doing so much all weekend, my house is a mess because there are clothes and furniture and stuff all over the place and DS isn't feeling well. I'm exhausted. Caffeine and Tylenol kind of day. My work is suffering because of it.

  • I didn't have caffeine all weekend! I was so proud of myself and now, I need it. At least it's only a diet coke. It could be a red bull.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts!
DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome.
131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
  • Oh! I like that, very pretty :) I have socks, bras and undies all in one drawer. It sucks, but our bedrooms aren't big enough for a bedroom set like that. I'm jealous!
  • I had that set up too. I hated it. It doesn't matter if you TRY to keep it all separate inside the drawer. They all get mixed together.

  • And it's so annoying when you're holding a baby and trying to dig out something specific. I cursed at my drawer the other day, like it was the drawers fault.
  • It is the drawers fault. Or at least the manufacturers. Apparently they don't all know about the need for three small top drawers.

There was this set I really wanted that had a nightstand with a hidden drawer that was velvet lined for jewelry. Then behind the mirror on the dresser (which also had three drawers) there was a mirror and a built in jewelry station on both sides. Like hooks and pads and the whole nine yards. I wanted it so badly! But it was way out of our price range. Womp womp.

@EagleWife those look like sperm swimming. ;)

Sorry Meimsx that you had such a hectic weekend. Hope you like your room once it's finished :)
Lol, @Asbromle, they kind of do. I'm not sure why they didn't all turn into cups of coffee...

I give you: the Skubb :D Super affordable, too!
  • Why does St. Louis not have Ikea yet!?

They are building one but it should have been years ago. I'm trying to convince DH to get a job there since he works in the industry. Which is why we bought a new set. He knows about the sales and then he gets a discount as well.

  • @lwrightenator, I hope you stay here! I lived about 15 minutes away from an Ikea when I lived in UT and never fully appreciated quite how close it was.
