STM+ What do you need this time around?

I was talking to my grandmother the other day and she was asking me how everything was going with the pregnancy. She then asked what we needed for this baby. Honestly, I couldn't really answer her. We went team green last time, so all the basics on blankets/clothes are covered. We have the infant car seat to use again. DS will be moving up to a bed, so we can use the crib. The only thing I seem to be focusing on is the stroller situation, which I can't even begin to wrap my head around for some reason.

So second time and up moms, what am I forgetting? If someone asks what they can get for us, what should I be looking out for?

The only big things we needed were a double stroller (which we probably don't even really NEED but I thought I'd like to have one just in case) and the second camera for our video monitor. I also wanted a double breast pump since I only have a single but the insurance will cover that.

Aside from that, I have just been buying things like new burp clothes, more swaddle blankets, a couple new sleep sacks/SwaddleMes, new onesies, and diapers/wipes. Probably also some new hooded bath towels and eventually new bath toys.

We'll be getting a new infant seat (I hated ours, and the manufacturer's of our stroller came out with one since DD was born).

Also, a crib and bedroom furniture. DD has a convertible crib, so all of her stuff will stay with her.

Another camera for the video monitor.

A double stroller.

The PNP, bouncer, swing were all gender-neutral, so we won't need to buy those.

I'll also just pick up some clothes.

The only thing I really need is for DS to get off the boob permanently and to be potty trained before #2 arrives

Eventually I would like to have a double stroller, but I'm not sure how practical it will actually be. I am a babywearer, so I bought a new wrap for #2. I'll probably get new washclothes and of course new clothes since this one is looking to be a girl.

We need a new car seat & we plan to get 2 more bases with it for DH's car & Grammy's car.

We need new diaper covers as we cloth diaper & DS wore some of his out with use.

I'm unsure we need a double stroller because we usually let DS2 (he'll be 3 in August) walk or else put him in the smaller umbrella stroller.

We either need another crib or else a toddler bed/twin bed for DS2 to sleep in.

Another camera for the video monitor.

We really don't need anything other than new bottle nipples and pacis.

I would like:

Boy clothes in case this baby is a boy so he doesn't have to wear pink all the time.

A sit and stand double stroller

a rock and play

All of our big stuff is gender neutral so we are set there. I plan on buying a giant pack of white 0-3 month onesies so we should be pretty covered.

I'm like 10,000% more laid back about this baby than I was with DD.

I'm getting a new swing, rock and play, and maybe a diaper bag. Only thing we really need are clothes. Nothing that big though.

Oh man, we are starting from scratch. I gave everything away about 2 years ago when we were convinced we were "done" having kids. I do still have my double stroller that I LOVE but everything from nursery to baby gear to clothes - we're starting over! I could kick myself!

We will need another monitor, and a dresser (DD's clothes are all in one of those plastic set of drawers... we need a real dresser for her!)

We've already bought a 2nd crib, and just found an Ergo at TJ maxx for $70! So, that situation is pretty well taken care of. I figure I will have DD1 in the stroller and LO2 in the Ergo.

We were also team green last time, so we're kind of in the same boat. There were a few things that we didn't do last time that I am planning on supplementing this time (second car seat base for infant seat, umbrella/lightweight stroller rather than just the BOB etc). But other than that, we're pretty set. It's kind of nice...

A swing and girl clothes. The motor went out on the baby swing about the time DS outgrew it. I found an awesome deal on a very gently used sit and stand double stroller so I picked that up already. Oh and a breast pump, which will be mostly covered by insurance.

We bought most big things gender neutral, so we don't need much. We need a double stroller and a new crib/dresser (dd will be 22 months and I want to keep her in the crib as long as possible). Other than that just some boy clothes.

The only big thing is a new monitor. While I loved ours, after 3.5 years it is discontinued and crapping out, so completely new one with two cameras. I have no idea where to even begin and am picky about the picture so this is the one real thing stressing me out.

All the major gear is ready to go. DS was a July baby and this one is a boy, so I think we will be well set with clothes for the most part. I may pick up a few new things just so this boy gets a little bit new. Will need to replace some of those small toys that you can't reuse because they just end up gross from slobber/spit up. Diapers. I may get another diaper bag and leave our current one for DH since it is beat up. New furniture for DS as he is still in the nursery and will be leaving that stuff behind for baby. Not doing a double stroller...we can either take two we already have or wear the baby and push DS or have him walk. So that's about it. I am sure random things will come up here and there but I feel pretty well prepared on stuff.

We already bought a new crib since DD still uses her. I want new bedding and sheets for the new baby. We'll be getting a second monitor camera. I was going to buy a RNP, but my sister has one I can use since her baby didn't like it. We're getting new burp cloths and bibs since DD's are pretty gross. I'll get a new pump through insurance. If we decide we want a double stroller, I'll buy the rumble seat for our current one. I got a ring sling since I wanted one with DD and never got one. I think that's pretty much it.

Thanks everyone! Looks like I'm not missing anything major. We'll need a new dresser, but that's not something I would ever ask anyone to help us with. We're still up in the air on whether a double stroller makes sense for us, as I prefer to baby wearl. We didn't do a video monitor last time around, but we're looking into that this time. I honestly think I'll be happier with it for DS than this LO so I can watch him playing in his room or overnight if he's gotten out of his new bed. Just need to figure out which one makes the most sense for our family, but that's a whole other thread discussion. Glad I wasn't totally missing something major!

We need another camera for our monitor. I'd like some new baby clothes, but we were team green and still are so that's more of a want than a need. I want to get a few more burp cloths and we're looking for bibs that have snaps (mostly for DS, but the new baby will use them too).

If someone offered me things, I wouldn't say no to a double stroller, but I have no plans on buying on myself since we hardly use a stroller for DS. I also have a Moby that I plan to use for the new baby, but I heard they are hot in the summer. I wouldn't mind something different if someone else was paying, but since we're trying to save money I'll just deal with it.

Luckily for us, this LO is also a boy and is due the same month as DS1 so we are covered in the clothing department.

The only things we need are new bottles nipples and pacifiers, new socks and diapers.

We may get a double stroller, but I haven't decided yet if we will use it enough for it to be worth it.

A new infant car seat. Also a dresser. That's it for big stuff. We need a bunch of little things, bottles, binkys, new blankets if this is a boy since a lot of them are all pinky and sparkly and Amelia is a bit territorial and has expressed that she doesn't want to share her blankets...

A double stroller eventually but I will probably wear her at first. New wash cloths as DD has worn through most of them. Breast feeding supplies. Also hoping to wean, potty train and get DD into her own bed but not all crucial. Hangers and something to organize clothes and maybe a new diaper bag.

We bought a double stroller, a twin bed, a second camera for our monitor, and we have a dresser. We were Team Green with DD as well, so we have neutral clothing, infant seat, pack and play, etc.

I need basically everything. We weren't planning to have a third and got rid of all our baby stuff in the last year and a half or so. Car seat (two actually, because kid #2 needs an upgrade) stroller, bed for kid #2 who is currently in our crib, bottles, breastfeeding/pumping supplies, high chair, play mat, swing, etc. If I cant find my Ergo, we will need another of those. At least we have a PNP and a ton of clothes.

We need a name! We are having a hard time with this!

But we also need to buy a new crib mattress and I'd like some girlish clothes and a new car seat.

Anything else is really just a treat for baby girl because we really still have everything from DS.

I was really hoping for # 2 for years and did not give much away in hopes I'd need it again.

Doing a video monitor this time around is a good idea, I hadn't really thought of that until now. DD has the angelcare monitor with the sensor mat but she and the baby will share a room after the first few months. A video would be good to keep an eye on her to make sure she isn't up playing or keeping the baby up.

Surprisingly more than I expected. We already picked up the double stroller since there is no way DS will be ready to walk independently. We need a bathtub and bath towels, another monitor for this baby's room, newborn clothes since DS was born in November, and some new crib sheets. Oh, and new bottles since we used them to the point of no return with DS. Edit: words are hard today.

Crib and mattress, double stroller (ds doesn't like the bottom seat on the b-ready so I'll have to send it back and pick out another freaking stroller), video monitor, clothes if it's a girl, and a base because we only used one of our cars when DS was born. Basically, not that much. But it's all the expensive stuff. Ugh.

Grandparents have been asking me. The only thing I had was a 2nd camera for our monitor. We already snagged a cheap stand & ride double stroller. Other than that it's just lots of expensive furniture sadly. Mattress & big kid bed for DD, and a dresser for LO#2.

Ditto almost everyone else. All of our big items are neutral - car seat, bouncer, rock n' play, etc. I am also overwhelmed at the idea of a double stroller. DD loves the stroller though so I think we will use it. And NOLA has a ton of festivals where a stroller would be super helpful.

I hated DD's dresser/changing table, so I want to scrap that and get new ones for her and the baby. But I think I'll use some furniture we already have for DD's room, and just buy new for the baby. Still unsure about moving her to a big girl bed or keeping her in a crib and buying a new crib for the baby.

If this baby is a boy, I'll need clothes. But otherwise, there's very little we need to buy.

I think all we need is a double stroller and another monitor. It'd be nice to get a bigger diaper bag to accommodate 2u2 wearing CDs but not totally necessary.

Since practically every mom friend I have is due this summer, I had to give back everything we borrowed for DD. So, we need to get an infant car seat, 2 bases, a tandem stroller, a bouncy seat, another video monitor, a microwave sterilizer, new bottle nipples, and a baby wearer/carrier. We need to get all the furniture to go in LO's room other than the crib, too.

Things that I would like to get but don't really HAVE to have are a rock n play, a changing table to put in the bathroom, a diaper pail, a puj tub, and a tummy tuck.

Also, I really need a new car. Or a newer one. I drive a '98 Audi A4 with 235,000 miles on it. Its so old it has a cassette player instead of a CD player. Where can you even buy tapes anymore? I'd love to find one of my mix tapes from high school. It is still dependable, safe, and I love the heated seats, but I'd really like a minivan. I'm such a weirdo, I know.
