Newborn poop color

At 4w 2d is it normal for an ebf baby to have poops of slightly different color? DS typically has bright yellow, almost orange poops but recently it has looked more a dull shade that's yellowish greenish. What impacts that change? Is it cause for concern?
Thanks!

Re: Newborn poop color

  • Brown, yellow, green, etc are all normal. As is runny/seedy poop. Blood is the only thing you would need to worry about.

  • My doctor told me to only worry about red, black, or clear poop.
  • Yep what PP have said. BF poop varies because what you eat varies unlike formula which is consistent so usually more consistent poops.

  • I think that's normal. The ones you have to worry are black, red or bloody, white or gray, consistently watery and if it's consistently large, hard or difficult to pass. Otherwise, your LO is okay. :)

Regarding this... My LO is 5days old and her poop still looks like the meconium just less sticky than the 1st days. Should it already have changed color?
