Bad week for mental health

Yesterday we finally saw the full extent of how ill my brother is. He's having delusions and he is paranoid. He thinks there's a big criminal conspiracy at his work, that his wife, friends, and neighborhood are in on it. He thinks someone wants to hurt him. He was gathering weapons to protect himself...it was just so scary. And he truly believed all of it. I've never seen my brother so scared.
I called his best friend and he managed to talk my brother into giving up his weapons and going to the hospital. They admitted him. I'm just so grateful that his friend could talk him down.
I know I've been asking this a lot lately, but please, if you have any prayers to spare, he could use them. So could my mom...she's just beside herself that she couldn't fix things for him.

    Sending lots of T&P to your brother and your family. Hope he will get help needed and his mental state  will be on the mend.

    Thank you. I know I've really come down on him here in the past, but I love him, and when he's not sick he's a good person. I have a lot of hope that this will be what he needs to be happy again.

    Oh man!  I am sure you have seen my post, but this is definitely not a good week for mental health issues.  I pray that your brother gets the appropriate treatment and he can regain himself again.  It is so unfortunate that mental illness plagues people like that.  It is just plain unfair!  I will keep him and your poor mom in my thoughts and prayers.
